What to Do About Fine Hairs?

This may seem so weird, but it's so annoying and I don't know what to do. With a beach vacation and a waterpark vacation coming up at the beginning of next month, I'd really like to figure out the best way to deal with this. I have really fine hair on my thighs. I mean from the very top of my calf/knee all the way up to my butt on the back and up to the binkini area on the front. I've tried shaving. I've tried waxing. I've used all different kinds of razors. I've tried plucking some with tweezers. Nothing works. It's all very light and you can't even see it or feel it unless little drops of water on it, like will happen every day during my vacations. So I can see it in the shower, right after getting out of the pool, etc, and I try to get rid of it, but I can't. Nothing works. I've tried using only brand-new razors on it-still doesn't work. I dont' have the money to do lazer removal, but I'm so self-conscious of it on vacation. I'm the only family member under 50 and overweight. In fact, there are only 3 people at the big annual beach vacation out of 26 who are overweight: me and my parents. I'm working on the weight issue, but the hair doesn't help with the self-confidence. Please help!

What can I do next?

I think most people have this. I know it feels like everyone is staring at the back of your thighs, but really, they're not. Just like mom always said, people are more worried about what everyone else is thinking about them, to worry about you!

But if it really bugs you, just get a cute sarong cover-up and wear that whenever you aren't swimming. Then nobody will be able to see it, and you won't either, so you can enjoy yourself and not worry about it! =)

Have you tried Nair or other similar products?

You're a mammal. You have fine hairs all over your body. Trust me, no one else notices it.

I have the same hair issues. I shave from knee to ankle but whenever I shave the thighs, I breakout and get itchy. Plus the hairs on my thighs is thin and lighter in color so not noticable until it gets a bit longer. I simply use my husbands beard trimmer and run it up my thighs-it takes a bit of time but so does shaving the thighs (which I always hated anyway).

The trimmer with no guard cuts the hair really really short so it isn't noticable and since the thigh hair seems to grow slower than the lower leg hair, I can get away with only doing it once a month. And no itchiness after!!

Don't worry so much, get an inexpensive beard trimmer and go for it. I also use it in the bikini area since shaving causes bumps and more itchiness. I just go really short there too and no worries!!

Enjoy your vacation and congrats on working on the weight issue.

I'm curious have you tried waxing at home or having it done professionally? I find that though at home waxing is cheaper and usually does a half decent job it just doesn't cut it with the finer hairs or on my knees. Professional wax jobs use a warmer temperature wax and it spreads thinner. Think about all the stuff they get when you get your eyebrows done.
