What to Do with My Time When My Child Is at Her Dad's

Wow, I bet you will get a lot of ideas from moms who aren't so lucky to have that much free time!

Library, book store, craft store, yard sales/flea markets. Gardening, volunteer somewhere, take a class, do some sightseeing in your area, poke around an antique shop...

Tried to think of things that were cheap/free for ya. I think you just need to search for something that interests you and go for it! Most likely, you'll make some new friends, and then you can spend time with them!

oh my run around the house naked LOL. no just kidding, I have 3 boys and they never see their dad. I would start up a bonko team or finds some hobbies if you can afford it. check the nashville scene for free movies or go walk the malls. hey the internet is always fun....

have you tried scrapbooking for your daughter? this is one of those things that i really want to do, but have yet to actually DO it. so if you have time on your hands, this could be a way to fill the hours AND do something wonderful for your little girl that she will absolutely treasure.

Besides what has already been mentioned, you could get together with some of your friends and go to a movie, out to lunch or dinner, shopping, etc. A girls night out doesn't always have to be going to the club.
This may seem funny to you (my husband got a laugh out of it lol) but I have a friend who is recently divorced, and on the weekends that her ex has her kids, there is several of us that meet up at her house, we all bring snacks and we play 80's Trivial Pursuit lol. It's actually a lot of fun! You end up laughing and being silly and totally forget that you're an adult lol. We all need to do that sometimes!

do you like crafts? Id love some time to scrapbook. Some churches or stores have Friday night scrapbooking parties. Read a good book or rent a movie.

Well, that all depends upon your interests. Do you like to read? Go to a library or join a book club.

Would you like to learn a new skill? Look into weekend classes for knitting or sewing or crocheting or cooking, anything you can find on a weekend.

If you want to give something back to the community, it is a perfect time for you to volunteer. Check your local newspaper to see volunteer opportunities.

Start a part-time home based business. Sell on Ebay. Anything to occupy your time is great. Join the Y and go swimming or do aerobics classes or a spinning class.

If you like to work in the yard, but never had time, then plant some flowers and tend to them.

There are a lot of things in the community you can do, if you just really look for them. Do a web search for your area, and I bet you will find a lot of things you never even knew were offered.

What about gardening or volunteering? I've always wanted to volunteer at a hospital, library, soup kitchen or even a nursing home. If you sew, maybe you could do alterations on the weekend? Some colleges have "weekend intensive" courses where you meet 6-8 weekends (I can't remember exactly) and complete all the coursework during the week in preparation for the weekend. Maybe you could babysit on the weekends to make a little extra money- there are a lot of us moms who don't want to leave our kids with teenagers for various reasons. Being an adult may be an advantage for you. What about making crafts to sell at craft shows? That one can be tricky, because there are very few things that really catch my eye at one of those shows. Making candles isn't difficult and everybody likes candles. Some specialty shops might even consign them for you.

Scrapbooking has gotten me through. I was not sure it was something I would enjoy, but my friends got me started and it was very therapeutic, not to mention gave me something to occupy my time and beautiful memories for my kids. I scrapbooked five years worth of pictures during my first 6 months of separation.
