We go to Dr. Tanna also. We have a 2 1/2 year old. The first appointment he talks to you about the symptoms your child is experiencing, your child's history-birth, medical issues, medicines your child has been on. He sent our child to Cook's to get testing. Our child has asthma also so he ordered blood testing and an X-Ray for his chest. He was not poked and hopefully, your child won't go thru that. I'm not sure what age they do the needle testing, hopefully it is mostly used for adults. I can't see a child lying there for very long.
Basically, he gives you paperwork to take to Cook's Hospital and gives you samples/prescriptions if he thinks you need the medication. He examines your child's nose, ears and mouth and listens to the child's lungs/breathing. He goes over your paperwork (long paperwork that you fill out). I suggest filling out that paperwork ahead of time instead of at the office. You can go to their website and print it off and bring it in with you. They want to know so much about your family history, your child's history-medical and your home environment also.
We love Dr. Tanna, our whole family sees him. Hope this helps you. C.
