Hands down....Don Henley's Boys of Summer...every time I hear that come on my 80'2 channel on my sirius station, I am transported to a different time and place. Cool thing is my 13 year old daughter loves it about as much as I do :-)
Eternal flame...by the bangles just about sums up my taste in the 80s........i was born in 81 so i mostly grew up listening to nirvana and pearl jam in the early 90s.
I still prefer the 60s and 70s even though i didnt live through them

A lot of 80s music is making a come back. My 12 year old asked me if I had ever heard of "Hit me with Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar. I had to say, "Heard of it?? I LIVED it!" Ironically, my 15 year-old routinely plays Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" on the piano, thirty years after I listened to it in high school!! I liked Jesse's Girl, anything by REO Speedwagon, most Journey, some Madonna, some Bon Jovi and Loverboy (remember them?).
Jessie's Girl!!!!!!
I LOVE 80's music and the big hair bands too!! :)
Um, all of them?! Grew up with it too, born in 76! Some of these may be 1990 but all remind me of that middle school time when I first discovered the radio and cassette tapes! Perhaps it was more late 70's than 80's but I liked
Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf.
Take Me On by a-ha (loved the music video - MTV was so new!)
Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Conner. Loved her look and her voice.
I also really liked Red Hot Chili Peppers, More Than Words.
The other song that comes to mind is 500 Miles by the Proclaimers.
It wasn't until the 90's that I discovered that I really loved the Cars, Cindy Lauper, Meat Loaf, Blondie, Pat Benatar and other classic 80's rock bands.
Hands down... Livin on a Prayer: Bon Jovi. Whenever I hear this song, it gets cranked up and there's usually some fist-pumping involved.
Pour Your Sugar on Me: Def Leppard is my dad's favorite song. He dances like a crazy man at our wedding to this song- great pictures!

I was a toddler in the early 80's so my favs will mostly fall under the late 80's, Micheal/Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Duran Duran, Beastie Boys, Queen and of course, New Kids. Madonna's Like a Prayer was one of my favs though. Everyone did their talent show performances to Eye of the Tiger, Cold Hearted Snake and Nothing Compares, Walk Like an Egyptian.... I'm sure I'm leaving lots out!
(also love Come On Eileen!)
My true music love would be the 90's stuff though.
Of course, brain freeze right now and can't think of titles but your question title made me think of "Just call me angel" before even reading your post and now it is stuck in my head--thanks alot. What I love is when my 12 yr old girls tell me about this "cool new song" and it turns out to be an 80s hit by Aerosmith or Benetar or whomever. There was a song on my d's Ipod the other day, I think via radio, by the Eagles and she liked it. She thought the song Running Like the Wolf-is that the right title?-was a new song a few weeks ago. She absolutely, positively, no doubt whatever loves loves loves wolves.
Pretty much EXACTLY what CAWriterMom said. In that order, too. But there's a special place in my heart for "Crimson and Clover" by Joan Jett and company - it was the first music video I ever watched on that brand new network MTV.
I think Funkytown was fron the late 70's, but I don't know for sure.
I really liked Pat Benatar, the Stray Cats and The cars.
Danger Zone & Billie Jean at the time
Now...a LOT, esp a lot of punk (but i'm biased, because my several of my son's friends dads were in those bands... you should HEAR the 'kid punk' we've made since they were toddlers
I like bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce on the BED!
DON'T HIT YOUR HEAD!
I like to bounce bounce bounce bounce on the BED!
