First of all, congratulations on your upcoming birth! There are a lot of different kinds of classes to choose from and it depends on what kind of birth you plan on having. If you are going natural, I would recommend a Bradley method or hypnobirthing class. If not, education is still important in having a smooth birth. The more you know about what is going on, the better you will be able to handle it and not be afraid. And you may decide after hearing the facts that you want a natural birth. That's what happened to me.
The Vanderbilt midwives website have a few links to different classes in Nashville. That website is http://www.vanderbiltnursemidwives.org/classes.htm
Good luck to you and your family!

Most of the time the hospital that you will be delivering at holds birthing classes for new moms and several other classes to help you along the way.

I delivered at The Women's Hospital at Centennial and really enjoyed it. We attended on Saturdays to help out with our busy schedule. We also took Breastfeeding classes there as well.

You can visit their website at www.thewomenshospital.com and scroll over Patients & Visitors, then click on Events and Classes.

Hope this helps! Good Luck and Congratulations!

Centennial Medical Center and Baptist hospital has some. Ask your OB to recommend one. I went to Centennial and found all their techniques useful for both births.

Have you checked at the hospital where you plan to deliver as far as what classes they offer? We had our son at Summit and they had a variety of classes to offer. There were some fees involved, but worth it! Lots of Dad's participated as well...just a thought! Best wishes!
