When Can I Get Pregnant?

My husband and I have decided to have another child. Question is - when during the month am I most able to get pregnant? I stopped taking the pill this week. I started my period yesterday; therefore, I imagine the time to start trying is in the next couple of weeks. Our twins were not planned, so this is all new to us. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We tried during my ovulation period in November, with no avail. Then, we tried during my December ovulation period - and guess what - two pregnancy tests later, and wah-la! I'm preggos. We are extremely excited. My almost 5 year old twins girlies are excited to be big sisters. We bought some interesting literature from Amazon, for their age group (what to expect when mommy's expecting) that I cannot wait to read with them. Thanks mom's for all of your help.

When I was trying I used a site called www.fertilityfriend.com. My friend had recommended it to me. I got pregnant the 3 month after tracking on there. I referred another friend there and she got prego on the first try! good luck

Best time from what I understand is the two weeks after your period. Since everyone's cycle is different -- an example would be if your cycle is 31 days.... your fertile days are days 11-20, with days 13-17 being your 'most fertile'. (I am copying this from my "Taking Charge of your Fertility" book.

BTW - day 1 is the first day of your period. So days 13-17 would be two weeks after your period STARTED.
Good luck!

It matters on your cycle.
If I were you I would
1. Buy First reponse Ovulation test follow the directions
2. Start "dancing" on 11/19 (10th day of your cycle)and every 24 hours after that, no earlier. (It takes a man 24 hours to replenish)(Most women ovulate 13-15 th day of their cycle, so ...)
3. HAVE FUN!

My husband and I were at the point of if it happens it happens with my 2nd child and so on the 10th day of our cycle we had unprotected... and that was it, BANG I was prego with my middle child.

Good Luck!!

Have you ever considered getting some information on NFP, Natural Family Planning? Everybody's cycle is different and even those with irregular cycles can figure out when they are fertile using NFP. Using NFP helped me and my husband communicate better, brought us closer as far as intimacy and we only have one child thanks to NFP. I had a regular short cycle so I would ovulate 6 days after the start of my period, so when we were trying to have a baby and we looked at the usual fertile time of 14 days after the start of my period, we kept missing every opportunity. Using NFP, I know for sure when I am ovulating and recently I began to ovulate 2 times per month because of a hormonal imbalance. No wonder people my age are more likely to have twins! Anyway, you can get free NFP information from Marriage Works! Ohio at ###-###-####. Just ask for Alex, the NFP Specialist! Good luck!

when you ovulate

different for everyone NOT 2 weeks AFTER your cycle starts, BUT it is usually 2 weeks BEFORE you start your next period! lol try to figure that one out

you can do the basal thermometer chart and you will be able to tell that way... it really works! (google basal thermometer ovulation)

It's usually about 2 weeks after you start your period.

Personally, I believe in let nature take it's course method. Stop using birth control and enjoy yourselves. Try it for a few months, then if nothing happens you can start tracking days and determine when your ovulating.

You can use the ovulation calculator on babycenter-- it gives you your fertile days and you can change the cycle to your normal non-BC length. I would then have sex every OTHER day starting a few days before the fertile period and going through a few days after the fertile period that is pinpointed. It has always worked for me. Took 1 month to get prego with #2 and 2 mos with #3 (we missed a few days the first month with #3 because of hubby's hamstring pull- woops). Of course I know it takes longer for some people....but we were pretty dedicated :) ha! Best of luck!
