I don't know anything about celiac in babies but my daughter didn't get her first tooth until a week before her 1st birthday. Now she's two and has a full mouth.
Baby number two doesn't have any teeth yet. She'll be a year old in a few weeks. Baby number one got her first two at eleven months.
She's currently going through tests for Celiac disease (which we think will come back positive given symptoms and lack thereof when gluten is eliminated) and I've read that it can cause late teething. So, does anyone have knowledge about that?
Also, when did your baby get his/her first teeth?

My daughter was an early teether too, first two at five months. However, there was a girl that I worked with that her baby didn't get any teeth until they were 18 months! She said that the docs were talking options (I don't know what they were) but then her teeth started to come in...all at once. I guess it was a pretty bad couple weeks. But I've known lots of people that said their kids didn't get their first teeth till after a year.
There is such a range that is normal. I was born with my bottom 2 teeth, and both my daughters did not get their first teeth until after 1 year. Of course from about 3 months on, every time either one of them was fussy, we would think it must be teething pain (and could have been - teeth growing through bone hurt just like them erupting through the gums). Every kid is different, with teething, crawling, walking, talking, self feeding, etc. Both my kids did not walk until 14 months and only crawled, scotted for about 2-3 weeks before that, but they are 11 and 14 and can swim, bike, run, jump rope, even pogo stick for 100 jumps now. You have enough on your plate with the celiac testing and changing diets to suit her. Enjoy!
Don't know about Celiacs in babies. Baby Girl was 11m for her first tooth.
My daughter got her teeth early (she had 4 before she was 5 months). Our friends second one was a late teether, and they got a little worried. I asked a few dental professionals I know and they all said when they are late to get them, they are usually late to lose them. Our friend's daughter didn't get hers till 13 months (her two bottom), and she didn't really have a lot of the common teething signs before-hand.
But some don't get there's till way after 12 months, and it's just their norm.
I'm sorry I don't have any info with the link between Celiac and late teething...but I do know some just get theirs later. I hope this helps.
Hi I think my daughter's was somewhere around 13-14 months, and there were no other health-related factors...
Her adult teeth are late too; she is a 6th grader and still has quite a few baby teeth in the back. Our ortho says just to wait.
Hope that helps!
Wow. I never knew that about celiac. My older sister and I have celiac (not diagnosed until we were adults) and we didn't get teeth until after a year. Makes me wonder if the two are related!! My middle sister had teeth at appropriate times, so that's very interesting.
My son was a super early teether. He had two teeth by four months, and 16 by 10 months.
My son got his first two teeth at 9-10 months. He's 1 now and has 8 teeth. Every baby is different and will develop at a different rate. Don't worry she'll get them. As for your post about the walking, my son is a year old and isn't walking yet either, he can furniture walk and stand up on his own but not walking yet. We don't push it too much because we want him to do it on his own. :) Good luck though.
I don't know anything about symptoms of Celiacs (other than the gluten stuff) but if your kids are just generally late teethers, I wouldn't worry too much about her teeth at this point. She's only a few weeks beyond when her sister got her teeth, right? Give her another month or so before you get too concerned.
The range for teething is huge. My son got his first two at 5 months and had 20 teeth by 14 months... But he also started losing those at 4. That's not "normal" either but it's EXACTLY the way my teeth came in!
Talk to the pediatrician if you're concerned. A dentist can do an x-ray and let you know how close they are, but you can't rush nature :)
My girls got their teeth late, esp my youngest who was over a year when the first came in and didn't have all 20 until 3 years old.
My first, had first two around 8 months and all teeth were in by 20 months.
My second, had first two around 7 months. Month later, four more came in, all at the same time.
Sorry, but I don't know much about celiac disease. Hope that everything turns out alright.
