My daughter stopped eating all babyfood by the time she was 10 months.
As long as she has teeth to chew the foods you give her & is interested in it, then go ahead.
My daughter will be turning 9 months on april 30th and I am trying to find out if she should be transitioning into stage 3 jar foods or stick with the 2s until she's a little older. I tried it one day and she did fine, no choking but she did not chew, she sort of pushed it to the back of her mouth like she does with the stage 2 foods. Is now a good time or should i wait?

My daughter skipped right through stage 3 foods and went straight from stage 2 to what we were eating. By the time she turned 10 months, she refused to let us feed her anymore. So, finger foods became our best friend. Even though it seems like she is just pushing it to the back of her mouth, she is probably smashing it with her tongue against the top of her mouth. This is a natural reflex for babies who aren't used to having molars, if she has any at all. I would say, in this case, baby knows best. If she eats it and likes it, give it to her. Even the stage 3 foods are soft and easy to swallow, unless she has a hard time swallowing things. Good luck!!
my daughter is 7 months and i just started her on stage three food, but i still use stage two fruits (not much choices in stage 3) but she does well with it, the chuncks in the stage 3 are soft enough for her to smush. the only problem i have experience is some foods seem a little to strong like the spaghetti she will make a gagging face after about half, and it doenst settle well she will spit up when she gets down to play again.
My daughter was the same was as the previous moms was, by the time she was around 9 1/2 to 10 months she refused to let me feed her, now I cant even hand her something, it has to be on her table or tray. With the stage 3's the food that they use in the jars are tiny, so theres not really meant to be any chewing, its more for introducing texture to the pureed food. Have you ever eaten chicken and stars soup from Campbells? You dont really chew it, just swallow, Its like that for them, they love to feel the different textures in their mouth, So as long as it doesnt seem like shes having trouble with it, you should be fine. This is a fun time for them with all the foods, You should know too that once shes eating the 3s you can feed her table food that you eat, Just chopped up more, At 92 cents a jar it gets expensive fast and since I always make extras, it helped us out in the pocketbook alot. I sit with my daughter for all her meals and still cant figure out how she gets it in her diaper! Have fun! P.S. You really are the best judge on what she is or isnt ready for, if you're not sure, try it yourself, If you can break it up with your tongue its probably something she can take, Remember she has alot more saliva in her mouth than you do.
hi,our christina just turned 9 months and has been on stage 3 since about 7 months old..she does chew, but shes got 6 teeth already? does your daughter have teeth already, they can eat it without many teeth as its very soft food anyway..but with christina I think she liked it cause it let her chew more..shes been eating scrambled eggs since 5 months old..and most of the time now she wants big people food anyway.if shes not choking, continue with it..she will prob start getting the hang of chewing the more you give it to her.
My son is also 9 months old but Yes now would be fine. Actually is you look on the stage 3 jars it says that it is for 6 months+. So she should be fine. However each brand is different. I usually by my son gerber, but one day I got a different one, i cant remember the name but it was thicker. I had whole peas and bigger carrots. They were soft but I was still worried. My son still ate it and it didnt bother him. So you should be fine!!!
