T.,
I used Palmer's. It was a good price and I don't have any stretch marks. Believe me, I would have gotten them if I had not used it. I have stretch marks on my thighs and breasts from growing up. Congratulations!

I keep getting different advice on what to rub on my belly and other areas during the pregnancy to keep down the stretch marks. One person suggested some kind of oil, another suggested just plain cocoa butter, and another said the ONLY way to go was a natural cocoa butter oil. The only thing I can find in the stores, though, is a cocoa butter cream by Burt's Bees (also called Mama Bee). Any suggestions where I can find something good in the Dallas area?
Thanks for the responses everyone. I think you're right, Brenda...at least that's what my doc says, too. He says that if you're prone to stretch marks you're probably going to get them regardless. I was a very active cyclist before and generally stayed in shape, and so far in my 15th week haven't gained any weight (not purposely though). I'll probably try some of everyone's suggestions just to keep my skin moist at least, and we'll see how the stretch mark thing goes. :) Thanks!

The best thing I can tell you to use to not have stretch marks during pregnacy is "Mother's Friend". I used it 36 years ago, and I don't have any stretch marks at all. I went to google.com to see if they still carry it and they do. I highly recommend it! I'm 58 years old now and didn't get any stretch marks from my pregnacy.
Good luck!
The best place to go for oils will be Whole Foods!
I am due any day now and have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter belly lotion since I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. I have narry a stretch mark and have even used it on my behind to reduce the stretch marks I already had and it has made a difference back there too!! I would recommend it to anyone. Good luck and Congratulations!!!!
I highly recommend Mustela brand creams and lotions - they can be found on babiesrus.com. :-)
Hi T.,
When I was pregnant with my first child, I actually started making my own belly butter because I couldn't find anything out there that I really loved. That was 4 years ago and I'm still making the stuff! I started giving it as gifts to my pregnant friends and it's just kind of kept going through word of mouth. Let me know if you're interested. It's called Muddah Buddah, it's a cocoa butter base with vitamin e, wheat germ oil, jojoba oil and essential oils of lavender, neroli, patchouli and vetiver. It's great for keeping the skin supple and is really effective at relieving itching. It's all natural and I still make it all by hand right here in Plano. Contact me if you're interested in it. I have two sizes, 4 oz. and a 1/2 oz. trial size. You can also learn more about it at my website: www.muddahbuddah.com
Palmer's Cocoa Butter oil works great. It's fairly common to find but Wal-Mart is probably your best best. They seem to have the best selection of Palmer's products most consistently.
Good luck!
Try Sprouts or Whole Foods. I know I saw some at the Sprouts in Flower Mound on Sunday. Congrats on the pregnancy!
I don't think there's actually anything that will really prevent stretch marks. I tried several different things and I still got them. I did some reading and everything I read said that it all depends on your skins natural elasticity. I've heard that working out before getting pregnant and not gaining too much weight will also help.
I think Palmer's cocoa butter is great. You can find at almost any store. You can find it at Walmart, Target, CVS, etc.
