We are moving back to the DFW area and I need opinions ladies! My husband will be commuting to Dallas/Addison (off the Dallas Tollway) and my parents live in Denton. We are trying to find somewhere to buy in the middle of these two places that doesn't have a awful commute for my husband...(I know, I know...impossible....right?!?! So far we have considered Lantana, Trophy Club, Southlake/Keller, and Grapevine. I'm familiar with Keller but I know the commute will be a nightmare for my husband with all of the construction on 114. We want great schools as well. It's a tall order, I know! Thanks in advance for any info!!

What can I do next?

I live in Lantana and love it! However having to get to the tollway from here would not be the easiest commute. About 30+ without traffic. As a real estate agent, I would suggest Frisco/Plano area as opposed to this side of the airport. He would have a better commute with good schools and not too bad to Denton, depending on where they are.

Hi K.-I live in Roanoke-just on the other side of Trophy Club-and you're right-it's a nightmare with the construction. Given the locations you are trying to be near-why do you all consider Frisco. It's right of the 121 tollway-and should be a easy commute to both Denton and Addison. The area is comparable for schools-as would Southlake and Keller. There are a lot of nice homes in the Frisco area-again, very comparable to what you would find in the areas you listed in your post. Wishing you and your family the best of luck with the relocation.

Well, it's not in the middle, but Richardson has GREAT schools, is about 15 minutes from Addison - you could even take the bus. It's pretty centrally located. It's still about 40 minutes from Denton, but that's not too bad if you're visiting family on the weekends. We lived there for 5 years.

I have friends that love Trophy Lake. Yikes, the construction on 114!

The Colony, Frisco, Plano, Lewisville all seem closer to the two, aren't they?

I have to agree with the other posters- I'd look at moving further east (at least east of the airport) to cut down his commute. Coppell, Irving and Carrolton are other possibilities I've not seen mentioned yet.

How about Flower Mound. Jump on 35 to George Bush. You could also live at the edge of Carrollton with Lewisville schools. Think Hebron.

I would move to Keller/Southlake. We live in east keller and my hubby works in Fort Worth. 40 min drive each way without traffic but we were more concerned about the schools then his commute. That was our sacrifice. We LOVE the schools here and the kids have adjusted very well. You hve to look at your priorities and what's important to you and your family and decide from there. Good luck!

I live in the Keller area and we love it but I can't imagine driving to Addison everyday regardless of the construction. I guess I'm spoiled, I hate driving in traffic or more that 15 minutes away. If you are trying to split the difference between Addison and Denton I have to think Tammy W is right. Frisco or Plano might be a better choice. Best of luck.
