I was going to suggest Turner Falls, also.... I have no idea about availability, though.
I want to take my little pumpkins camping tongiht to watch the meteor shower. I live in DFW, so, sort of close to Oklahoma border. It's waaaaaay too bright here in the big city to get a good view. I want to go out in the country to a state park for the best viewing. Now, also, it's stupid hot here, so, I want someplece with a water feature. When we wake up tomorrow morning and it's 95degrees at 10 am, we are going to want to go swimming. I've heard there were some beautiful waterfalls on Oklahoma border but they are packed and require reservations. I'm looking online and we have waterfalls at Kicckapoo and Spring Falls here, but that might still be too close to civilization. Someone suggested Lake WHitnet, someone else said Glen Rose Dinosaur Park. Any thoughts?

I know there is very little water in Glen Rose right now. We just cancelled our Boy Scout camp out this weekend for Tubing out there. I think the statement from the Park was something like "....when the water is flowing through it is at 2 feet..." I believe OK just got some rain this week. Check out Lake Murray...it isn't far from Gainesville and has some nice places to camp.
They always say in a mountain or high grounds, away from the lights. Are there any hills around? A mountain you can camp on?
Arbuckle Wilderness? Turner Falls?
Thats sounds fantastic!! Enjoy
I am hoping to get a view from my backgarden.
