I want to have it picked up by tomorrow but not sure what charity to use. Any recommendations.
I've donated to the Dallas Can Academy twice and been extremely pleased both times. The second time I donated was just in the past month and besides getting th necessary paperwork for tax donation we also received a really nice thank you card signed by a group of the students.
Dallas CAN Academy. It is an organization that helps students graduate high school in the Dallas area.
Call Dallas or Fort Worth Can Accadamy and make it clear that you want it picked up ASAP, by tomorrow!
I second the idea of the Salvation Army. Excellent reputation for using almost all the money they make for their charity work, rather than for overhead expenses.
They may not be able to pick up -- in fact many charities can't. Be prepared to drive your car to them, and have someone follow you in another car for your ride home. Be sure you have the car's title with you and any other papers the recipients need. You may not be able to get rid of the car as quickly as tomorrow, depending on what the local charities needs' are.
I'm sure all the charities mentioned are good; however, I usually donate to Mission Arlington, 210 West South Street, Arlington, TX 76010. Donations go directly to those in need here in Arlington, and they have helped thousands over the years, (including one of my daughters many years ago) to get their lives back on track. I will be forever grateful to them and always try and spread the word about their good works.
Check a woman's shelter. Many abused moms need a car.
My mom donated to Dallas Can Acadamey, and they were great about picking it up and providing all the paperwork for taxes, etc.
