Hi E.,
I'm not a huge fan of the smell of Vinegar and I like use safer products so I shop at a Wholesale Green Store for all my cleaning supplies and well pretty much everything. They have the best cleaners I have ever used, Seriously! And they are cheaper than the grocery store.

Hardwood floors - a little vinegar in water. Same with the wooden cabinets. However, those microfiber cloths (picked up some at Bed/bath/beyond - I love. Those can be used very lightly dampened or dry, for dusting. Granite and stainless steel - I'm no expert and we just put in two granite top cabinets so I appreciate the advise!

We use vinegar on the wood floors and method granite cleaner on our kitchen counters. You can find it at Target - it is green and great smelling. On our wood, we damp (very lightly) a microfiber cloth and dry with another microfiber cloth. After we bought an extremly expensive bedroom set last year, this was what was reccomended to us.

I don't know if you are interested in more green products . I use Sal Suds by Dr. Bronner(purchased online). I use it to mop my floors, clean my wood table,Cabinets furniture etc.(I love it )I use green works(by clorox) or seventh generation all purpose cleaner on my granite but the guys who installed it said you can use anything but at seminars they've attended they recommended windex multi purpose.

I use distilled white vinegar and water for just about everything.
If you buy some microfiber cloths (in the auto section of Target)they do a better job on stainless steel appliances than any of the really toxic smelling stainless cleaners.
Hardwood floors should be cleaned with dilute vinegar water only. This is what I have been told by every cleaning lady ever as well as a bunch of people in the antique furniture business.
I use the same boring vinegar/water for my granite. I do not ever have meat in my house though. If you are preparing meat on your counters I would use a "real" cleaner like dilute bleach water after doing so.
Other than that I really like the Method products. They are reasonable priced, readily available, and you can go "naked" or get ones that smell really yummy.

we use vinegar and water in our scooba on the wood floors, clorox greenworks all-purpose followed by simple green granite polish on our counter tops, clorox greenworks all-purpose on our wood furniture (the occasional orange oil to polish it, though), and i REFUSED to buy stainless steel appliances for our new house. I never felt like they got clean enough, they showed every speck of dirt and every ding, and I think they draw too much attention to themselves. we use clorox greenworks all-purpose and glass cleaners to clean the black appliances. if they get really greasy, i get out the simple green.
