Which Type of Double Stroller Is Best?

I would suggest that kind where the kid can stand behind the front. three year olds are heavy...I have a hard time toting my two year old and new born around in mine (i have the graco duoglide). I think (and this might just be my kids) that three year olds would rather walk.

Better late than never. I kept this request on purpose because I was looking for the same thing for shower present, so thanks for making the request.

I've taken alot of these comments and did some research. I've found that the Baby Trend Sit and Stand seems like it will be tbe best of this class type. The back seat folds up and a platform will appear leaving room for a toddler to stand and ride if they choose. The comments on the websites say that this is one of the only ones that will fit the Graco Infant Carrier. I reviewed the Graco DuoGlider and a person commented that her Graco Infant carrier didn't fit in the stroller very well...which is wierd. Anyway, so I decided that I will be buying a Sit and Stand.

The trouble is that I couldn't find one in a store to look at. Target carries them but the stroller is only available online...which cost me an extra $50 to ship it within 2 days. OUCH! So, if this is the one you want..plan ahead if you can so you can avoid that shipping charge. Good luck...I hope this isn't too late.

I had the Graco Duo Glide stroller and had a 2 year old and an infant and hated it. The reason is because it is too hard to steer with two kids in it, let alone one will having your hands tide with another. ( such as caring the baby tring to push) I then bought a Sit and Stand and I absolutely love it. I can push with one hand very easily. Plus it has an attachment for a carseat carrier on it. Its Great. I bought mine at Target.

I'd find out how she wants to use her double stroller. I have a 2 year old and 4 month old and wanted one for walking (for exercise) and for walks to the park or at the zoo, etc. So, I wanted a jogger or walker instead of a one in front of the other kind. Most of the time my 2 year old wants to walk, so for trips to the store, or mall etc. I don't need a double stroller at this point.

So, I bought a Schwinn side by side walking/running stroller and I love it. It has 3 wheels and the front wheel turns for easy corners. The handle is adjustable so my 6 ft 2 in husband is comfortable pushing it as well. It was a little spendy, but we found a good price online searching around a little we found a site that had free shipping... It was ordered from strollers.com.

I also agree that the Sit and Stand is a good option, especially with a 3 year old. The Graco Duoglider is almost impossible to steer with a heavy preschooler in the front...the Sit and Stand puts that weight in the back, with the infant's weight in the front. Plus, the 3 year old can sit, stand, or walk without much fuss. We've had it for a year now, and absolutely love it.

I have a side-by-side that I really like. The side-by-sides are great because both babies see what you see! It works great at zoos and stuff. I have a Peg Perego. It is about as wide as a wheel chair, so it fits most places (most are handicap accessible).

I also had a Graco one that I hated. If I were you I would buy her a double jogging stroller instead you can find some that are not to wide. Also if you get one with a front swivel wheel that also can lock she can use it for many things and most of the time you can find them for a good price I know there are some on ebay for 129.99 I am actually thinking of buying one because I am going to start watching a 11 month old little girl and I have a 3 year old.

Are you sure she wants a double stroller? Most 3 year olds don't sit in strollers. And by the time the baby comes if that 3 year old is pushing 4 she really may not want it.

But if she really does I'd go for Graco or Peg Perego

We have the Graco Take Me (Two?) Tandem and LOVE it! I can easily push 2 kids in there (I have a 3 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old and sure it's a little heavy with the 3 and 2 year olds but not bad at all considering how much weight that is!). I got it from babycenter.com and got a great deal, no problems with it at all and I've been using it a LOT for 2 years!

If the middle child is already three a typical dbl stroller might not be the right answer....I have a 3 year old and a one year old and my oldest refuses to sut in the stroller...he wants to walk. But I have seen those "sit & stand" strollers. Where the front is a normal seat but the back has a little place to sit or a platform to stand on which I think would be perfect for a toddler.

Whatever you do, don't get a Kohlcraft. I think it's a K-Mart brand. I got one as a gift, used it at the State Fair for the first time, and wanted to leave it in a dumpster there! It wouldn't turn unless I physically picked it up and made it turn. WORST DOUBLE STROLLER!

I found that the best double stroller was a side by side umbrella style. Sure it's wide but I never found a door that it didn't fit through and it's easy to push - and lighter when it's empty to pack into the car. Also, it packs down really small. Ours is a Jeep brand, but it's older. I think MacLaren might have a nice one that I've seen lately.

I have a Graco Duoglider and I like it. Sometimes it's hard to steer but anything bulky I would think would be like that. Something light weight but double may steer better. I wonder if she'd only get a year out of it though? They do have a stroller where the 3 or 4 yr. old can stand behind. You'll have to look at the weight and/or height requirements to see what will work best with the oldest. Maybe 3 is okay to do the stroller thing but maybe 4 is too old. I have no clue. The Graco was over $100 when I bought it on e-bay.
