White Sox Game Travel

Hi,
My brother and his family are coming into town this coming weekend from Nova scotia. They have a 5 & 7 year old. The 7 year old really wants to go to the White Sox game, and they decided on Sunday. The 7 year old's friend came to Chicago and went to a Sox game and had a really great time.
Unfortunately, my family are generally not sports fans, and haven't been to any Sox (or Cubs) games. We live near Arlington Heights. Can anyone advise me on the best way to get to the stadium on Sunday? I know they could do Metra and the el, although it being Sunday, the Metra has a reduced scheduled. STill, they could do it. Or they could drive.
Any advice?
BTW, my family probably won't go, but my dad from Detroit is also going.
Thank you!

What can I do next?

Is that TODAY sunday, or next Sunday? You have time to call Metra and ask for some advice. They may have a reduced schedule but they know a game is going on somewhere-they provide good service. You/they could also drive to somewhere and park, then take public transportation.
Might be expensive but cab?

One possibility is to take a Pace bus. We did that for a Cubs game, and it was easy. It's $4 per person each way. Unfortunately, there isn't a station going to Cellular field that's very close to A.H. http://www.pacebus.com/sub/espd/us_cellular_express.asp

The White Sox website has driving and parking direction if they choose to drive. Alternatively, you can search online for places to park, and even reserve a parking spot.

I hope they have a good time!

Metra to the Red Line is really the best way to go. You could also drive in and park at Union Station, then walk over to the Red Line that way, too, but the cost is basically the same for the day as if you were to drive to the park.

But if you want to avoid parking at the stadium and city traffic, that's the best way to go.

It's pretty painless to drive there. We just did it last Sunday. They have several gigantic parking lots next to the stadium.
