We are moving and need to buy a new fridge and washer and dryer. We know we do not want front loaders so please only suggestions on top loading washers. We also want a double door fridge with bottom freezer.

What brand and models do you have that you love or ones to stay away from is good too!
Thanks in advance for all recommendations!

No advice on a fridge, but I do have some input for washer/dryer.

I have the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer/dryer set. The washer has a glass lid that my 7 year old LOVES watching the clothes through. It is agitator free and HE. Some days I have to go base jumping to get to the bottom of the machine. The dryer is front load, and I love it just as much as the washer.

They were a Christmas gift from my husband two, maybe three, years ago. I love them just as much now as when they were delivered.

We purchased Kenmore elite appliances when we moved to Florida (2011), fridge (French door with two drawer bottom freezer), stove (double oven), microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer (top loader with large drum and steam feature on the dryer) in white.

This was one of the best investments we made, I love them and they are well worth the cost. The washer works like a front loader but doesn't get that stinky smell (I do leave the top open after each use to dry it out).

I think the regular Kenmore's are just as good but hubby wanted the high end models.

I would go through reviews on different models you like and go from there.

Last summer I bought a top loading Energy Efficient LG that has a glass lid from Home Depot & I LOVE it. It holds a half load more clothes than our old Kenmore front loader did, the clothes are cleaner & I can add extra water if I feel like they aren't getting rinsed enough. Although that hasn't been a problem.

My kids will laugh, because they'll catch me standing over the lid watching it, to see if the clothes were really getting wet enough & moving around enough to get clean. My CA King comforters fit in it with room to spare when I wash them. The only draw back is that since I didn't replace the dryer, if I'm washing towels & sheets, it becomes 2 dryer loads. Fortunately, we hang most of our clothes outside on the clothes line. Good Luck.

Do NOT buy LG anything! Super expensive, few techs are trained to fix them and if they do need parts, if they are not in CA, they have to be shipped from like Japan or China. We went through hell with ours and will never buy that brand again. I think we have Kenmore now from sears and have not had any issues. Good luck.

Washer: got it from Sears. A Maytag Bravos XL.
Top loader.
HE.
I like it a lot.
It has different settings for various wash times.

I HATE my kenmore elite. Junk, junk, junk. I have a duel fuel stove and a frig. We've had little problem after little problem with both of them. I will not be buying kenmore elite again. There is nothing elite about it :-) with that said, if it was the best stuff I could afford, i would buy it again. I love having a duel fuel stove, and it has a warming draw. It was 2k less than anything similar at the time of purchase.

We have Maytag front load washers/dryers. Amazing! I got a higher end model. I've been pleased with this purchase, and of course i love my Bosch dishwasher.

Don't buy Maytag. I had top of the line dishwasher and fridge that died within 5 yrs with issues. I can say that my Maytag washer/dryer set never had an issue but they were over 10 yrs old.

We've replaced our appliances with Kitchen Aid for fridge and dishwasher. Love them and no issues. We don't buy the cheapest models, we prefer the higher end and they've been well worth it.

My washer/dryer combo is almost 1 yr old and it's a large capacity Samsung. Love them as well and no issues.

My Kenmore Elite fridge is almost 9 years old. I have had two problems with it - one I fixed myself for less than $20 and one I had to get serviced for about $200. Both problems probably occurred after it was at least 5 years old. I'm happy with it even with the fixes that had to be done.

I agree with whoever suggested KitchenAid. I previously had a dishwasher made by them and it looked older than dirt but it was so quiet! And my KitchenAid dryer has to be from the early '90s but it still works (I had to
replace the belt maybe 7 years ago)!

I think Kenmore and Maytag are made by the same company, if that makes any difference.
