My husband is the splinter-remover, the ingrown-nail trimmer, and the all-around minor surgeon in our house. He even removed two of my son's fingernails when he shut his hand in the car door, poor thing. I am squeamish and more than happy to leave it to him. What about you?
Me! I was an EMT for several years, and am not the least bit squeamish. (Hint about splinters, cause I can't see em either - spread elmers glue on it, let it dry, then peel off. OR - duct tape pulls it out, too)
My trigger is dead animals. If there is one on the lawn or porch (AKA kitty presents) - DH has to take care of it.
Sometimes, if it is really smelly barf or animal poo - I'll need DH's help because smells make me gag really bad, but I've seen traumatic amputations and lots of blood and that doesn't bother me.

Me- my hubby doesn't even cut the kids' nails, has trouble killing bugs, can't handle puke, and is squeamish with blood....so that leaves me. I worked in an ER for 4 years -- seen it all, pretty much. Doesn't bother me too much. In my household we had a tendancy to tell stories at the dinner table that make other people squirm or stop eating -- builds a strong stomach!

My husband and I are both good with splinters.
I cut everyone's hair.
I've snipped a few skin tags off myself or husband.
I've wrapped up minor sprains and I deal with all bandaids.

PICK ME! PICK ME!! Like I said on your other post, my previous EMT training kicks right in. From when my 7 year old daughter ran into a swing, head gushing blood (hello butterfly bandage!) to my son at 9 months old 'eating' the fish hook (keeping him immobile on the ride to the hospital).. I've got this. My guy instantly turns a lovely shade of green/gray at the sight of blood, so it's all me ;) I can maintain totally calm and level headed until after the fact, THEN I have a freaking heart attack!!

My 16 yo daughter does most of it. I can't see splinters. She will also wrap broken toes, bloody fingers and do bee stings.
Hubby did most of her surgeries when she was a little tyke.

Both me and my ex are good at this and not squeamish. He used to be on an ambulance crew, I just grew up on a farm with lots of opportunities to practice this stuff! Both of us are over 50 now, so seeing can be a problem. Our 9 year-old is great at this! She has removed splinters, cut nails, and even plucked my eyebrows for me! She is so interested in science, and biology, that I hope she grows up to be a doctor!

my husband is a Firefighter/emt/daddy, so he does all of that. Unless he is gone at the time. Like the other day my son got a huge sliver and daddy was gone. It couldn't wait, so I took it out.
Last year our daughter slammed her brothers thumb in the door and my husband was at fire hall. His thumb was bleeding out all four sides! My mom stayed with daughter and I drove crying son to see daddy at the hall because only daddy can fix those type owies (so my 3 year old thinks). :)

My husband is THE MAN at this sort of stuff...I have gotten better about NOT freaking out (no more "Oh My God" at the first sight of blood) I have learned it doesn't really help the kids when I scream and freak out...it seems to make them freak out more, DUH?! :)
~I do all the nail trimming though...that I can handle just fine!

Both of us. But that's probably because I'm a pediatric nurse & he's a paramedic. It also depends on who's available because we work around each others schedule ;)

My husband is the surgeon/haircutter in our house. If it's a splinter I hold and comfort them while hubby gets the job done. We've never taken our boys to a barber, but my husband does a superb job with their hair. They all get different styles which suit them. The one time I cut my youngest's hair, my husband had to fix the embarrassing damage I had inflicted! He refuses to do my hair though!

When it comes to splinters and non bleeding ouchies...it is my hubby all the way. When it is anything with blood...and screaming...it is me. I have a stomach for blood. Hub will pass out at the mere sight of it.
If it is major...we both are involved. usually one holds down while the other operates!

My husband is certified in CPR and first aid and all that through his work. But if anything happens to our kids he goes into panic mode. I'm the one that calm, cool, and collected. Sometimes even trying to get him to calm down in the process. I will really find out how strong I am when the boys start breaking bones, ughhh. I've never had one so I"m clueless. My hubby said he could step in then, but I doubt it. If the boys even cry that they scrapped their knee, he sends them to me.

I'm a nurse and I'm usually the one home when these things happen, so it's me. Although I'm no Meredith Grey, I have seen some pretty "icky" stuff in my career. But, when it's your own kid, it IS different.
My now 10 yr old had his finger smashed with a sledgehammer almost 2 years ago. As he came running in from outside, screaming, my gut dropped to my toes. As I was running water over his finger - or what was left of it- I was praying that it wouldn't fall off in the sink. I'm not sure he would've been able to stay upright if that had happened!! Other than that, it's the typical split chins, busted heads, broken bones, etc. I'm confident my hubby could "step up" if I was unavailable. He's a Marine and a pretty un-shakable guy. But, if you present him with a vomitting kid, maybe not so much. LOL!!

My husband is the surgery man at our house. I'd have no problem being the person, but he stepped up the first time one of our girls got cactus whiskers in her finger, and he's been the blood/splinter guy ever since. I'm the one who cuts toe nails, though. He just can't do it!
