So my husband just got his new tattoo for our daughter, it's baby blocks spelling out her name:) its a good sized peice and my goodness you would think it was his first tattoo! He came home whining like its the end of the world! We are both heavily tattooed so I know they hurt, but come on now he did it to himself! So what's something your husband whines about that makes you just say REALLY?!

What can I do next?

Lol. It's just like how when a man gets the sniffles, he is absolutely dying... Yet a woman (especially mothers) are expected to cope and move on.

I read an article that claimed women are usually more stoic about physical discomfort, because we PMS every month, so a lot of things aren't really a big deal to us... while men only experience discomfort if they are sick or injured... so it's 'worse' for them because they aren't used to it.

Don't know if there is any truth to it... but it makes sense! lol.

I get that most men are babies when it comes to pain. I'm lucky to be married to someone who never complains about pain - never - and he's had lots of it over the years. For your hubby, I might throw something at him like "geesh, that's an awful lot of complaining from a little tattoo. Kind of makes you appreciate that I'm the one who went through labor and delivery to HAVE the baby, huh?"

First of all I know where you are coming from. My husband doesn't have tattoo's but when he gets sick, omg. He is a bigger baby then our baby boy, you would think that he just had surgery or had a fatal disease. My husband had a filling, okay it was a filling. When he got home, he made it out to be this horrible foot canal and that he needed his mommy. When I final got a hold of the doctor, I found out that it was just an filling and that was it.

Men are babies, and a small cut is a operation for them. I truly believe that if men had to have babies, our race would be gone in less then 20 years.

The only thing my ex husband and current husband have in common: they would occasionally say "I think I'm getting something" or "I feel like I'm coming down with something" Then they do not get sick. WTH, I do not give sympathy to some one who MIGHT be sick tomorrow. I ignore it and walk away. (My ex would go lay down in a dark room)

Belive me, I know what you mean.

Honestly, I think it's because society as a whole has men made to believe since they were little boys that they should not cry or show emotion.

It is so engrained (sp?) that they have moments where they feel comfortable with their wives that they just need to let their guard down and get some sympathy for any little thing.

I have seen this with every man I've ever been involved with. I am not knocking them in any way. I do understand it because of what society has told them from an early age.

While it can be annoying to us women, I think I've found that it is their request for caring and attention from us. I try to give the attention and try not to say anything negative (most times that is difficult. Whoops.).
