Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active 2, Your Shape

I want to use my Wii for exercising. I don't really need to lose weight, but I need to get in shape, tone up (my six year old said, "It looks like there is a tiny baby in your tummy!" Time to lose the baby fat!!), and build muscle. Variety in workouts is good; I don't want to get bored. I thought I had to have the Wii Fit Plus with balance board. Then I discovered the EA Sports Active 2. Right before writing this I found Jenny McCarthy's Your Shape. She's kind of weird, but the wireless/no controllers camera aspect looks cool. So...what do I want for Christmas?!?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Santa got me the Wii Fit Plus! I haven't used it much yet, but the hubby and kids seem to be enjoying it!

I'm not much of a video gamer...we have the wii fit - it's alright. But I have gotten to really like the XBOX 360 KNECT - this thing is awesome!!!! No controllers to hold onto. I actually bought a game for my family to play...and I actually look forward to playing it.

Just do the Wii fit... and interval training on your own on the side.
Interval training... does not take long, can be done with any exercise and really... gets you in shape.
If you look online per "interval training" it will explain it. It is rigorous... if done properly and will get you into shape and increase fitness.

good luck,
Susan

I have Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active (the first one, not 2). I like both, but I felt like I got a much better workout with EA Sports. A bit more variety and ability to personalize routines (you can't set up your own routine with Wii Fit that includes games or aerobics, only yoga and strength training). I also like the 30 day challenge that gives you set workouts that are balanced and gradually get more challenging. I don't have any experience with the My Shape, but have heard positive things about it. I think either of the 3 would be good, but personally I'd choose EA Sports Active 2.

I've never played the others, but I do love my Wii Fit Plus! My problem is remembering/making time to do it! haha

It's great because you can do yoga & strength training exercises in your own routines. Plus you can play several games where you are actually exercising while you play, so it's not boring!

Get Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's a DVD. It takes 20 minutes and it will totally kick your butt! I've been doing it fairly regularly for about 3 months and I've lost almost 2 whole pants sizes. :) Not to mention my arms no longer jiggle. The DVD runs about $9.00 at WalMart and the only other thing you need is a set of hand weights (I started with 3 lbs, then upped it to 5 lbs) and a mat if you have hard floors. You'll work harder than you will with any video game. I won't say that it's easy or fun, but you see results fairly quickly, even if you're just doing Level 1.

I have the Wii Fit Plus, and both EA Sports. I really like the EA Sports. The challenges are good to keep you on track. I also like that you can make your own workouts. I like the Fit but mostly just for the games not the actual strength training and working out. If you're doing it for fun then I think you'd be good with any of them.
Good luck! Have fun! Merry Christmas!

I like EA sports 1 and 2 way better than Wii Fit.
