Here is the deal! I want to be able to stay at home with my daughter, to bring her up the way that we feel she should be. The problem is, I have to have some type of income coming in, dosen't necessarily have to be a lot of money, but just help with bills and stuff. Anyway i don't know what to do. I have looked at a bunch of stay at home job positions but am leary to jump on them, because of past horror stories that I have heard other people go through. Does anybody have any positive experiences of working at home? Or have any ideas for me? Please help!!!!Thank you

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
There's all kinds of things you can do and here's a grouping of some:

Direct Sales - like the jewelry or beauty products or health products. It works great for some people, not for others. My suggestion here, is to do it if you love the product.

Service -- like the childcare someone suggested or you could take in laundry or typing (I typed papers on a Mac for kids with my first baby, sometimes I made $300/week, sometimes nothing). Also, sewing...my friend charged $20/hour for sewing jobs.

Profession -- what is it you did before you had a baby? I'm a work at home paralegal, but it took a lot of work to get my job home vs the office. If you did a good job at your ask your former employer if they'd use you as a consultant, and let you do work from home when they needed you.

Good luck!

Depending on how much you hope to make, you should consider watching other children in your home. I have found it a great way (though tiring at times) to be home with my children and support the family. Please PM me if you have any questions about starting something, I would be happy to support another mom trying to stay at home with her children!!

I work at home and it is totally a positive experience. Before I found my present company, I had tried over 30 businesses in 11 years. None of them lasted more than 30 days. I would love to tell you some more. Check out my website to see if you would be interested.

We don't do any selling, stocking or delivering of products, so no worries. Everything I do is completely from home! And there was no huge investment to get started!

I'm an Independant Arbonne Consultant, and it works great for me. You might want to try something with network marketing. There are a lot of great companies out there, and some have very little start up cost. Arbonne has a $29 sign up fee... to get the products at wholesale, and that's really all it takes to get started. You get out of it what you put into it... and you have to be consistent. They have great support and awesome training. Our Area Manager makes around $2000-$3000 a month and she has four children and works a full time ministry position. She got to that level after only a few months in the company. I don't know if this is the kind of think you're looking for, but I can promise it isn't a scam. Arbonne Industrial has an excellent reputation and our CEO, Bob Henry was named the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Just some food for thought, let me know if you're interested in knowing more.
