Does anyone ACTUALLY work from home with a non-ripoff company that pays?

I am very tech-savvy and need at least $1000 a month net. I can work 6-8 hours each day, but cannot make any calls... any ideas folks, I am desperate!

I run 4 franchises from home. I do have to make calls and I do interview outside my home. I think most things you do need to make calls. That one might be tough. We have a web sales division where you can make about $2700 for one website sale but again you have to make calls.
If that changes message me.

I have a side job editing materials for an online curriculum company. Many people contract for tech writing and that sort of thing from home!

Go to hiremymom.com and apply to things. Now, you have to validate each yourself, and you have to pay your own taxes and many things are strictly PT, but it's a start. I do not make $1000 take home because of taxes and I don't have 8 hours a day chasing my little girl, too. But your mileage may vary.

Think outside the box. What are you good at? What do you love?

Keep in mind, working from home is "work".... If you work for another company, you're expected to have child care, no dogs barking, etc. It's a job and requires self discipline.

We run our company from home which is in the raw materials industry, niche market. We have warehousing and trucking set up in Dallas.

It is a lot of work. You have to have strong work ethic, self motivated and be ready to accept risks

You'll get plenty of responses for mlm and direct sales. That works for a lot of people but keep in mind that a lot if people are also very turned off by parties, recruiting, etc.

Good luck

I could work from home, I don't. What do you mean by tech savvy? If you mean you know your way around a computer then you have no special skills that are going to allow you to work from home working for a reputable company.

I wish I could help but you are looking for a silver unicorn, it doesn't exist.

Just a reminder that working from home does not always equate to working your own hours/work flexibility. I am a project manager and work from home. I am on scheduled calls all day with people all over and out of the country. At least half of my company works from home because it is cheaper for them to reimburse our phone line than pay office space. My son is in preschool/aftercare. Just because I am home does not mean I can keep him home with me (without a sitter) because I really am working and expected to be present throughout the 9-5 day. It would be extremely unfair of me to keep my son here, because he would be in front of a TV to be entertained or expected to play quietly himself. That would be so unfair to him to be with me and have me not paying attention to him. Something to consider in your search.

I work from home but it is a small private company, and if you look at my prior posts, I used to work in the office, an exception was made for me. My job is 90% on the phone. Not good for you. But I think medical billing is an excellent option. I think you can look in your area. You may need to get a little training but then you should be good to go. The pay is decent from what I know. Another one is bookkeeping. You can do a partial work from home. IE spend one day a week in the office and do the rest from home. But you have to know quickbooks and so on.
Those are some ideas.
There's no magic bullet. If it was so amazing, everyone would be doing it...

I've known people who've done transcription from home (legitimate). If you have experience, tech writing (user manuals). It depends on what you mean by tech savvy, and if you have experience in any tech field. Also, you can't make calls, but if you can receive them you might be able to do something call-oriented. My job allows me to work from home some days. Can you do a combo?

You could try doing some freelance work (for example, I proofread materials for a publishing company), or you could try getting a job teaching online. These would both allow you to work from home in your "spare" time (when your kids are asleep or being watched by someone). Of course these require an appropriate level of education and experience, which you did not mention. Keep in mind that working from home is great because you might be able to be home with your kids and keep to your own schedule, but it can be very challenging to find time to do the work, and it's not like those pictures with moms at their computers with 5 year olds on their laps. :)

The only person I know that "worked from home" and made that sort of money started to do online gambling. Poker pays well. Had to make a min of 500 a month to make ends meet just barely but really needed 1000 to be comfortable. I wouldn't really call it working at home, as it is not a reliable paycheck but desperate times called for desperate measures.
