Okay mommas, i gained [[50]] dreadful pounds with my daughter over a year ago! Happy to report i have lost 40!! But this last 10 pounds have been the death of me the past 4 months! Im literally stuck at 150!! And now that we are settled back down in a new home, and the husband is getting ready for deployment, i need a good workout routine! I walk a lot with my daughter, and im constantly running up and down the stairs at our new place (which i know my legs are made of metal now from all of this moving, walking, and running up and down the stairs all day everyday! Haha). But i need a good workout routine!! And has anyone had any luck with the wii fit??

I AM JUST SO SICK OF MY BODY. I KNOW IT WAS VERY MUCH WELL WORTH IT HAVING MY DAUGHTER, BUT WITH MY HUSBAND BEING A SOLDIER AND LOOKING ALL FINE AND LOSING 30 POUNDS JUST IN BASIC TRAINING & LOOKING LIKE HE DID IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN WE MET (BLUSHING), I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE THE FAT WIFE!! HELP ME LADIES PUUUUUHLEASE!

What can I do next?

80 percent of weight loss is diet. Cut the carbs down and don't eat ANY carbs after 4pm. You can work out until kingdom come but if you don't eat clean it won't come off. I'm struggling with it, too.

Diet plays a bigger part then exercise especially when you're trying to loose those last few pounds. Kick up the cardio to 45 minutes straight if you can. Try chicken & greens for the next week, what my trainer suggested to me was to boil 2 chicken breast and eat pieces of it through out my day (5 small meals a day) Or you can try cutting out anything white i.e. flour, sugar, milk etc. for a week.

I have EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii and I LOVE it!! There are 2 different "personal trainers" and they focus on different things. The workouts are great...I had a hard time moving after the first 2 days...lol! There are goals you can set and (cheesy) virtual trophies...I won't lie...I'm very proud of my trophies and I get so excited when I get a new one. You can also set up a online profile and join a fitness group (only if you know the people) if that helps you keep motivated. I usually do the 20-30 minute workouts with that and then I work up a good sweat playing Just Dance 2 with the little one. My mom has Wii Fit and she is disappointed in the lack of exercises.

Yes, look into P90x. Everyone I have know who has used it has really lost weight. My husband even took it with him on deployment! I also recommend stroller strides classes. Depending on how aggressive the coach is, you can really lose weight and stay with your baby. Lots of fun!

Men can loose weight easier than women. The metabolism is so different.
You are talking about 10 pounds and I have so many friends that say the last 10 pounds is the absolute hardest.
At that point, they have to think about inches instead of pounds.
You have lost 40 pounds! You are amazing!
Everyone hits a plateau. You moving around so much may have built muscle. Your inches may be down more than what a scale shows you.
You are obviously active. Eat sensibly. Smaller meals throughout the day as opposed to three big ones. Don't skip eating or your body will think it's starving and keep every calorie in case you go into "famine" mode. It's evolutionary. People keep more weight on during the winter. It's not just the holidays or the treats. Our bodies are programmed to survive.
That said, how can you hate your body? I bet your husband doesn't. 10 pounds is making you feel like the fat wife? PUUUUUUUHLEASE.!
I have never used wii fit. Don't know if it's good or not.
I think you are being too hard on yourself.
You've done a great job having a beautiful child and you've lost 40 pounds.
I know women who are married and they don't even care. Their husbands don't either. We're pushing 50 and there is no such thing as looking like we were in high school anymore.
The most beautiful thing about a woman is her confidence.
See yourself as beautiful for everything you have, for everything you've achieved, for everything you can be thankful for.
Including a rocking body!

Is there a place near you to swim? It's one of the best exercises for anyone and it won't give you sore muscles. You can even take your daughter.
Swimming is therapeutic in so many ways.

Best wishes.

Ok, I'm not sure how you'll feel about this, but my husband & I just bought the p90x workout, and it is AMAZING!!! My daughter is now 8mos, and I was also stuck at the 150lb mark, and it was making me nuts!! It is very intense, 6 days a week, anywhere from 40-90 minutes each time, but so worth it!! They have 3 different routines, strength training, muscle building, and lean (weight loss). I'm doing only the lean routine, and I've already begun losing inches and pounds. My husband is doing the strengthening one, but very randomly. If you do the p90x and actually stick with it, the results are amazing. I had a friend who lost 60 pounds from that program alone! And, I've already lost about 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks!! I like that its different every day, and that's what I need. Without variety I get bored really quick, and then I end up quitting because of it!

AG is right on-losing weight is really about diet. Take a good look at yours and see where you can fine tune it. If you don't watch carbs already you should start. Don't go no carb but do try to reduce them-esp the simple ones like sugar and white flour/pasta/rice. When you eat these your body will use them up first for a quick source of energy rather than burning your fat. Look into the mediterranean diet for a great example of clean eating.

So exercise though because there are so many benefits to it besides weight loss. And it WILL help you to lose-just shouldn't be your main tool. Try the 30 day shred by Jilllian Michaels. It is only 20 minutes long and lots of people have got great results from it.

Totally depends on your lifestyle. If you need to stay at home and can't afford the gym I would highly recommend P90x. Follow the diet plan included for best results. If you can afford the gym...try the classes and do 30 mins of cardio on different machines but make sure you push yourself. Try wearing a heart rate monitor to be sure you are working to your full potential. I like to stay between 150-180. Remember this saying "You are what you eat! 80% diet 20% fitness" I also highly recommend seeing if you have a crossfit anywhere near you. Check it out www.crossfit.com You will get into the best shape every from that workout and have a ton of fun doing it. It is a little more expensive but worth every penny of it. Good luck...

Have you ever tried Jazzercise? It's so much fun!!! I've been doing it for almost 4 years now, since my 2nd child was 4 weeks old, and have done it all the way through 2 more pregnancies too! It's great because it's more social than just going to the gym. They offer hour-long classes that include about 40 minutes of aerobics, and then strength and stretching. I love it!

There's one about 20 minutes from you in Little Rock. Jazzercise is having a one-day sale on Monday, January 24. Check it out!!!!

Haha - you sound like me. I'm at 145 and have 10 more pounds to lose. However, I kind of stopped the whole dieting thing because I got comfortable at 145 but realistically I need to get those extra 10 off. What I did was eat 6 times a day "Small Meals". It's the only thing that really helped. I just started the gym in the morning too. Not only for my health but for my sanity too. It helps me relax. If you can not get to a gym, try finding online great workout routines and do them yourself at home. Or continue walking every day but turn it into running. Your best bet of losing the extra fat and getting fit is a lot of cardio. I have incorporated a lot of cardio on my days at the gym, there are two days where I do nothing but cardio and abs and the other days are resistance training. But the best thing is to get your body really moving with the cardio and your metabolism eating the 6 small meals a day. Make sure you incorporate protein in each one. And stay away from PORK it kills us when were trying to look good because pork is very high in fat.
