Worst Morning Sickness :/ (At Least for Me...)

I've had morning sickness with every pregnancy...generally pretty bad. I swear, this pregnancy feels WAY worse! I feel like I spend all day swallowing trying to not throw up...throwing up once or twice...constantly feeling like I'm hungry and exhausted beyond belief. My mom said, "Maybe your low in something?" I can barely keep anything down! I'm sure I'm low on protein...iron...sugar...you name it! I have gummy prenatal vitamins that I take whenever I have a decent moment throughout the day...so I should be good on folic acid...and other vitamin related stuff. Everytime somebody posts something on here about morning sickness...I think, "Good luck with that one..." because every pregnancy I try different things and nothing really makes a big dent in the misery. I feel for majority of the day, the only thing keeping my food in is my constant swallowing and thinking happy thoughts (seriously...those happy thoughts help!). I've never gone 24 hours without being able to keep ANYTHING down...so technically I'm not 'severe'...and I'm sure there are women out there who have it worse (God bless them...). But the constant hunger because I can't keep anything in is the worst! I feel famished all the time...I'm nibbling throughout the day...trying to eat reasonably well balanced...trying to find things that sound remotely good....it's just not working. I thought it was bad in previous pregnancies...I'd kind of accepted that that was just my lot in pregnant life...but this is horrible! Fortunately, I'm expecting it to start tapering off here in the next month or so...but until then...anybody have any suggestions??

What can I do next?

Take Zofran, and wear seabands, those gummy things never did anything for me. I had severe hyperemesis the entire 9 months with my last 2 pregnancies. Zofran was the only thing that remotely helped. It is a prescription drug that was originally developed for patients dealing with nausea from chemo, so it is very safe for pregnancy. Generic name is Odansetron.

I only have one child, but also had some miscarriages. My successful pregnancy was uncomplicated, but I had absolutely horrible nausea and vomiting the whole lst trimester. I couldn't even lay down, had to sit in a recliner, I couldn't read because it made me nauseated. So I had to sit in a recliner and watch TV all day...couldn't work either.

It did go away after the 1st trimester, thank GOD!

The ONLY thing that helped somewhat was starlight peppermints (those little red and white mints you get at restaurants). They smoothed over my gag reflex. Keeping something in my stomach also helped. I also would drink a little eggnog in the middle of the night when I woke up sick.

No easy solutions, but it is a sign of a healthy pregnancy.

I had terrible morning sickness throughout my whole last pregnancy, up until the day my daughter was born. I finally started taking vitamin B6 and Unisom at night starting at about 9 weeks, as recommended by my doctor. It was a lifesaver. Occasionally I would stop taking it to see if my m/s had subsided, but I would be throwing up by noon the next day. Ask your doctor about it!

My morning sickness was so bad that now, 4 years later, I can just think about being pregnant and I feel sick! The only thing that made me feel a little better was to keep eating little things all day long. Probably why I gained a bunch of weight during pregnancy, but it was what I needed to do. I was constantly eating pretzels or crackers and drinking sprite or ginger ale. Sometimes Jolly Ranchers helped... the sweet/sour taste kept the yucky feeling away. For a short time, I did take Zofran, prescribed by my doctor and that helped A LOT! Good luck, I hope it doesn't last too much longer for you.

Bless you!
I stopped at two because I couldnt take the idea of being sick anymore.

Try to get some protein in you and eat a little whenever you can. The less I ate, the sicker I got.

With BOTH my pregnancies, I had BAD morning sickness AND migraines.
Per my OB/GYN, I had Acupuncture.
THAT is the ONLY thing, that stopped it.
Completely.
And it is very relaxing.
Just 1 half hour session was all it took.

I hear ya. I am completely miserable too. 10 weeks, and counting the days until I get through this 1st trimester. I was going to get the prescription anti-nausea medication, but when I went to pick it up, I found out it was $50 bucks for 9 PILLS! And that's *with* insurance! ($300+ without!) I decided nine days for $50 bucks wasn't worth it, since I'm not on IV's, etc. Here's what I've been doing to stave off the nausea the best I can- cinnamon toast, cinnamon toast crunch cereal (someone on here suggested it, and it is genius - actually helps, especially for late-night nausea), cinnamon graham crackers, lemon drops, peppermint lifesavers, real ginger-ale, ginger chews (candy), fresh air, sleeping propped up, drinking cold drinks instead of hot, oh, and peppermint patties. So after buying all of this stuff I probably could have got the nausea pills for the same amount. But I just have a hard time justifying it for only 9 days of relief. I would need 21 days worth, and that's if the nausea actually goes away by the 2nd trimester. Ugh. I feel your pain.
