V.B.
Play it safe, toss it.
I bought a thing of hummus the other day and didn't bother to check if there was that sealed plastic lining security thing underneath the lid. Today I brought it to work and it had spilled inside my bag so I check and the lining is only half on. Now I dropped my bag this morning so I'm wondering if it busted open or if the lining was half off to begin with...I'm paranoid someone tampered with it and i'm gonna get poisoned but I'm starving! LOL. Would you toss it or eat it??
man...seems the majority is saying toss it which is what i was leaning towards. but... so hungry!!! LOL. sigh.
Play it safe, toss it.
I personally would toss it. Wouldn't want to chance anything.
I'm sure it's fine. It probably came open when you dropped it. I love hummus! :)
Ug, I hate it when something like this happens! Still, I would toss it. I doubt anyone tampered with it, but if it wasn't sealed before, the expiration may no longer be accurate, too. Now I want hummus...
Yeah, I would not take a chance on that if I were you.
Why risk it? Toss it.
I would throw it out..its not worth something happening.
Those plastic things pop off if the wind blows just right. I'd eat it.
Be safe and go get lunch.
Of course, hummus can spoil. (I also read that it usually smells foul when spoiled. But who knows how good your sense of smell is.)
The fact that it has been previously opened may make it spoil a bit faster I guess but the main concern is whether or not it was opened and tampered with.
Toss it! And find something else to much on.
I'm not sure what hummus is but if it is anything like cottage cheese or sour cream it will bust open when dropped. mushy things like that usually do. If I liked it, id eat it.
I would toss it. I thinking dropping your purse will not make the plastic bust. Better safe than sorry. Someone might have opened it and decided they don't like it or want it and returned it back to the store. The stores don't always check the item before letting people return it.
Oh my!!! I'd toss it, if I can't be sure it was me.
I would wonder the same thing but then my husband would say "Seriously, what are the odds that someone tampered with the hummus and poisoned it? Not very high. Who would return a container of hummus?" I would honesly eat it, but hey I completely understand if you don't. Now if it were candy that would be a different story - I would never mess with opened candy from all the horrible Halloween stories...
