"Would he do it?" Yes.
"Would I ask him to do it?" No.
My husband can go to the store for Cheerios and come home with Count Chocula, so it would be a very low percentage chance of him "getting it right."!
Lol. Im just curious. My husband would prefer not to, but yesterday he was out and I was at home with sleeping kids so he picked some up for me and the cashier said hes got some guts buying those!! And he told her he had cramps! LOL!!
Would your husband do it?

Yes, he absolutely would buy me tampons...Not only would he buy it, he wouldn't have a care in the world to stand in the line with it being the only thing he buys..
I would never ask. I prefer he not even be aware of the timing about that particular aspect of my femininity. Plus, I could never see myself explaining to him exactly what to get. So Yeah, we have boundaries about stuff like that.
I have on many occasions. Usually the little girl at the check-out looks more embarrassed than me, lol.
Yes.
And he has.
The better one, was when he went and bought my like four different kinds of Depends. I would wear them after having babies, rather then the giant navel to mid back maxi pads.
He actually had alot of fun buying. He played a joke on the checker. I was dying when he relayed the story to me!
Tampons and Maxi pads here, are like jock straps and tube socks are in a foot ball locker room. My kids like to take unused Tampons, and use them as light savers. The Playtex plastics work the best in their opinion(so I stopped buying them, ha I was dumb to think that would stop them). They like to use the maxi pads as cell phones. They just have big brother draw the keys and what not.
:)
Yeah, my husband did, back in the day. We've been married forever - why not!
He has bought me Fleet Enemas and stool softeners after surgery, too. That's even worse!
How about the cell phone calls "Honey, don't forget the prunes - the bite-sized kind."
Doesn't phase him! Bahaha!
Dawn
Yes. He is proud to...says its a tropy of honor to have a wife. Smacks 'em on the counter and says, "that's right I got a wife! Ring them babies up."
Yes -he has and he would. And from some of the other responses, let me give him his due:
He's also brought me enemas, and even though between pukes, I was begging him to leave -helped me in the bathroom when I was naked on the toilet with diarrhea while puking in a garbage can. I truly wish he had NEVER witnessed that, but I was honestly so out of my mind in agony that I didn't care too much. He's also seen two babies fly out of my hoo-ha, so I don't think tampons are a big deal to him ;-)
He would. But I would never ask b/c I'd be afraid he would get the wrong item...
He wouldn't like it, or make jokes with the cashier probably though.... lol
In a heartbeat. He is wonderful and would do anything for me!
Libby!!! I am dieing here!!! How funny.
My son actually used a tampon string to tie his uniform neckerchief together, we were in a pinch. (he's NAvy)
Yes my husbnad, dad and my oldest son would do it for me. My husband has done it for the girls.
My youngest has no idea what they are really for yet.
Oh and one day, years ago, my husband came downstairs and proceeded to tell me all about tampons and how to insert and how they can cause toxic shock and all sorts of info. He had read the insert.
And I also used Depends after babies.
Of course he would. Not a big deal at all.
Yep...he even did it once for me when we were dating!
My husband has no problem buying that stuf. At all! I think he feels like a tough guy BECAUSE it doesn't bother him! (but after 18 yrs of marriage and lots of infertility and other issues, there's nothing to hide!) LOL!
My 11 yr old son, on the other hand, won't go near that aisle in the store! If he thinks I have to go down there, he runs in the other direction! hehehe!
Yes.. he has even bought them for my mother! haha. It was HILARIOUS! He was 18 at the time and he had a package of Kotax pads in his hands and saying very loudly "KOTAX... who needs Kotax" with this silly voice down the aisle. To this day we laugh about it.
Absolutely. When I was tending my newborn DD and running low was probably the last time I asked, though. I prefer to buy my own, but he has a teen daughter so he'll get tampons for her, too. You have to be very specific, though, or you never know what you'll get! It helps to hand him part of the package so he can match it up.
Yes he would and has. I just make sure I am very specific. I have even gone so far as taking a picture of the box on his phone so he knows. :o)
Yes, my husband has bought them for me. I must say I was quite proud of him because I did not even have to tell him which ones to buy. He came home with the correct ones and I was so shocked because I never thought he really paid attention to what I used. He is so laid back about everything and he knows it is just part of life so it does not bother him at all. He has three girls so he knows he will be buying a lot more soon enough.
My husband buys them for me whenever I need to. He doesnt care, he says he always gets the "Awwww" from the cashier lol! He says, it doesnt matter, they obviously arent for him, and it makes him look good.
Love that man!
He said never! but we will see about that...........
Yes my husband would LOL
Reluctantly. Though I sometimes ask him do it, just to force him to acknowledge the issues women have to face. I know, a bit twisted, but it makes me smile. And there are so many things I *don't* force him to do.
Yes, and he does often!
Yes, but I had to send the label from the empty box with him to make sure he got the right ones. My daughter and I preferred different brands, and he didn't know one from the other.
All men would prefer not to, but mine will if I ask him really nicely. He did it just a couple of months ago. I think he feels sorry for me because I have endometriosis so my periods are really, truly wicked & if I'm home in my sweats already he wouldn't make me get re-dressed to go to the store, especially if he's already on his way.
Would he pick them up for me? Yes, absolutely. Would he like it? NO! I guess after holding my hand through 3 natural labors and births, I think he figures picking up pads/tampons just isn't a big deal (he's always glad when that TOM rolls around and I actually need them especially since BC has failed us once). Sounds like you have a good guy.
He did when I was in the hospital after I had my first and needed pads. I'm sure he would do it without question if I ever needed him to again. I know it doesn't bother him at all, he doesn't get embarassed easily.
My ex did and my dad bought pads for me after i had my baby. I dont think its a big deal for grown men, maybe if it was a your teenage son he'd be too embarrassed. : )
Molly:
What a sweet man you have!!! Yes, my husband has purchased items like this for me. In his eyes, it's a fact of life. So these are "necessary" things.
I love his sense of humor!! How great!!!
I'm not married (yet!), but I know my sweetie would purchase anything I asked. He's very confident.
But he doesn't have to... I use the Diva Cup! ;o) <3
Lol. Yesterday, I bought the wrong dang tampons at the store. I am so sick of them changing the packaging! I lay in bed last night fuming over this (discovered it right before).
Grrr.
Yes, of course he would. He has done it more times than I can recall.
I don't think he's ever brought the wrong kind home. ;)
He has, and he will. As long as I give him the exact name and brand and he is able to grab and go he is fine. I have only asked him twice and that was right after my son was born and I couldn't drive. I've had to get things for him that are a little embarassing so I guess that is what you do for your love.
Yes, has occasionally for years. I don't see the big deal.
My husband has in the past and it doesn't bother him. I have to be specific though on which ones to get. He has in the past called a buddy of his that was at the store on their nextels using the walk talkie part of it (so everyone in the store could hear) and announced loud and clear to not forget to get the tampons that his girlfriend was needing. His friend embarrasses easily so it was priceless. :)
Ha ha
When I used to have periods yes my hubby would pick them up for me, no questions asked except which brand. He could never figure out why a bf or hubby would not do this. The cashiers should know that they were not for him and if they thought they were it gave them something to think about.
Absolutely! If this is the worse thing for a husband to do for a wife then just wait!!! My poor hubby had to help me with much more personal stuff last year when I had my fusion on my back! Now, that's a husband!!!!
Oh YEAH. In fact, he was always rather thrilled to after the first time. Why? Because I was benched/no sex on my period... but I would "trade bjs for tampons"!
Absolutely! As everyone woman has their favorite brand, and I don't want any ole tampon, I rip off the top of the box with the label and say, "Get these and only these" and send him on his way. I think he's just glad he has someone to buy them for. A man buying tampons is not a lonely one!
Mine would be willing and probably has. But it is rare that I don't have what I need in the house and have always done most of the grocery and household shopping. I would have to be very specific about brand, size, box color, etc.
yes, but since I was about 35 before I stopped being embarrassed to buy them I rarely would ask.
My husband does for me every month :).
Yes, he wouldn't think twice.
I've never asked him but I'm sure he would... stranger things have happened ;)
I am 44 and don't need tampons anymore. My husband would have bought me these things if I needed him to, but it's something I would never have asked of him.
Yes, if I really needed him to. As in it was the very last option :)
My hubby has no problem buying them. He has bought them for years. Funny story though, when our daughters were at home (the older 2) and needed some pads, they both liked the same brand, just different versions. One was in a yellow package, and the other in a green one. We wanted 1 package of each, one for each girl. (pads) The brand also had pink packages and I believe lt blue. He got confused at the store, so he called me and asked me, " did you want the lemon or lime flavor?" I laughed so hard I was crying! SOO FUNNY! My girls were laughing too. He didn't quite get it until he came home with them, and we repeated what he said. Then he laughed. LOL! Funny!
I'm going with OneandDone- my husband would probably say yes (after much pleading on my part) but he wouldn't come home with the right stuff!!
I don't have a husband, so I don't have to worry about it. But I did see one guy buying them for his girl. He was all tattooed up on both arms, shaved head, multiple piercings in each ear, and totally muscled up. He didn't even try to hide the tampons, just carried them right out in the open. Not what I expected, but good for him!
Yeah, sure. Not an issue. Would he buy the brand, absorbency, or anything else I asked for? No! Because his brain is wired only to remember politics and computers, that's why.
Yes
And has.
But I have to tell him EXACTLY, which one/which brand, verbatim.... and write it down. And show him, the package of what I have and want, that is on the shelf at home.
Yes he has but I don't ask often because both times I've asked, he bought the wrong thing. He doesn't understand the difference between pads/tampons so I had to explain which is which each time he went and he still managed to get the wrong thing..lol! After I had our youngest, I sent him to get pads and came home with Depends (which worked OK) but he still didn't get what was wrong with what he bought..lol!
Funny! I think my DH would but I don't trust him to get what I need...I would have to send a picture via the phone so he'd buy the right kind. I think if he actually looked at the row of boxes he'd be overwhelmed with the selection. Probably would have to ask him if he was already at the store shopping with a cart :) Thanks for posting.
yes he would & has. I have to tell him what brand & what kind. He will even take a picture of the box w/his phone camera.
If it absolutely couldn't wait and I needed them ASAP, then he would. If I had enough left to get me through till the next day, then he would be sending me to the store to get them myself. Lol.
He would and has many times but my husband is just the best ever so its no shocker to me that he would do this for me =)
yes, mine would... but he most likely would get the wrong kind, so I like to buy that stuff myself.
I knew you'd get A LOT of responses with this great question...I'm having fun reading the answers.
Yes, my hubs has bought the 'unmentionables' for me ( I detest that word, but have not seen it used yet), and for our oldest daughter. But he always calls from the aisle to ensure he is getting the correct product, even though I have written it down.....and he still comes home with the wrong product b/c he did not read the entire box.
Husband and Dad both have purchased this stuff for me in the past--both sweet guys. I prefer to do it myself because they always came back with the wrong stuff:)!
I LOVE your husband's reply!
Yes all the time. He does not get embarrased by things like that.
