Thanks to everyone for their advice! I am going to try the yogurt. I have almost done everything else and I will let my dr know that the antibotic didnt help! I'm ready for it to be gone she's had it for a while!!

My daughter is 19 months old ans she got her first yeast rash when she was just 2 weeks old. She has continued to get them on and off siince then. The best way i have found to help it go away is to give her long hot baths every night just to let it soak and the medicine your doctor gave you and baby powder the best way to get rid or it is to keep it dry. but her rashes only last for a week to a week and 1/2 when i do that. I hope that helped a little bit. Its nice to know that my daughter isn't the only child who gets those!!
My first baby girl used to suffer from yeast infections as well, someone gave me the advise to start giving her yogurt.
If you get "Plain yogurt" you can always add some fruit to it, but if decide to get the one with fruit get the low sugar one!
It seems that the yogurt have certain components that alcalinize the acidity (or viceversa, I forgot) that causes yeast infections on girls.
I started to give yogurt to my second girl early too and she never suffered even once a yeast infection.....My doctor never recommnded antibiotics for yeast.
My girls are now 17 & 13.
I hope this helps!!
Kids have the rarest sence of taste, but you can also try this:
Cook white rice and then add some cool plain yogurt to it, my girls loved it, still do! Get creative with your baby's diet...that's just another way to introduce other ways to get her to enjoy the wonderful benefits of yogurt and be Yeast-Free!!
Yogurt with live cultures!! That will help from the inside out. I've taught a few little ones with this issue and though it is common it's one of those things that reacts differently in each child. The one thing that will help is Yogurt...regardless of age! So, whichever topical treatment you decide on, definetly start giving her yogurt every day. Some people have a higher yeast content in their bodies and get the infections at the drop of a hat. Regular yogurt intake can help clear up and prevent that! Best of luck to you!
I see a lot of responses to this but I will add what I have used since I did not see it. My child used to get thrush really badly which is a form of yeast. So when she got a diaper rash that didn't go away with cream I used what I used in her mouth for it and it went away very quickly. You can get it a most pharmacies it is Gentian Violet, it makes a huge purple mess and stains the skin for a little while but it works wonders on any kind of yeast infection be it thrush or diaper yeast.
Nystatin cream should clear it up quickly. The Dr. can give you prescription for this.

keep her clean and make sure you powder her bum...just use some powder with cornstarch in it...but most importantly make sure you keep the area as clean as possible...
My 18 month old had one a month ago and it brought me to tears. there is an over the counter cream called Clotrimazole and it is used for athletes foot. it is an anti-fungal cream. put it on her and then put the balmex over it. I swear after one application it helped!
My son had them as a baby, but I think it is different with a boy. Until I had him I didn't even know that boys could get them. His doctor gave him creams... L.
Hi M.,
Yes, I am familiar with this. My baby girl Eva would and still does get these quite frequently. At first it was very startling to me. However, my Dr. has assured us that it is quite common for baby girls and baby boys. Although, my son never had one. I will pump up the active yogart in her diet at the first onset. Plus, I always keep Monostat in the cabinet.
Keep in mind, it is hard to tell the difference between a diaper rash and yeast infection. If I was unsure, I would use the diaper rash ointment for about 24 hours, if I did not notice a difference then I switch to Monostat.
Just don't be alarmed. My daughter is very sensitive and would get a yeast rash with just about every antibiotic perscription. However, now at age 4 she does not get them near as often. Although she does still get them occassionally.
Also, I don't and do not recommend using any of the insert supplies or method. I just simply wipe a little on her privates. Usually the symptoms will go away within about 2 days, then I still apply it for at least one more day.
As always, get feed back from your doctor as well. I just wanted you to know that is it not uncommon.
Good Luck!

over- cleaning can cause this, try a bath with only warm water-no soap, wipes that have no alcohol or fragrance, unscented diapers? this is if you are talking about a vaginal yeast infection, if you are talking about thrush(the one in the mouth of newborns) then i have no idea
When my little girls had this, I put monistat on it. WORKED PERFECTLY! They CONSTANTLY had problems due to ear infections and antibiotics. It's safe and effective. Walmart has a store brand that is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper and works just as well. The 3 or 7 day treatment is fine - both work fine.
Hello, M.. In my expereinces with 'yeasty-rashes,' I put plain yogurt on them and they disappear! All three of my babies have had one of these rashes at some point. I put the plain yogurt on and it is usually gone in 1-2 treatments. We all know how important it is to eat yogurt when we have a yeast infection as an adult, right? It's the same principle, the live active cultures eliminate the yeast. Try it and let me know if it works.

Be careful with the yogurt - she may be too young and you don't want to mess with her digestive enzymes that way - I got fussed at by my brother (a nurse) when I fed yogurt to my son when he was 4 months old and got thrash. a light dust of athlete's foot powder mixed with equal parts corn starch may do the trick - thats what I used. Also, try to keep her in dry diapers as the moisture creates an environment which yeasts thrive.
