I LOVE Say Yes to Carrots! I have used a lot of their products and love every one of them. My neice is a vegan and uses their products, since they use no animals in their products or testing. LOVE them!

I am curious about their products and just wondering if anyone has used them much? I have super duper dry hands. I do daycare and my hands are always being washed....after nose wipes, diaper changes, when helping kidlets wash hands, washing dishes, etc. It seems they are always in the water and as result I always have dry hands. In addition, over the years, my skin has become sensitive and I can't do regular type lotions (those gifts of Bath & Body type scented stuff goes right to my daughter as I can't handle the scent for migraine reasons and the ingredients for sensitivity issues).
I have been using Cetaphil CREME ...its way thicker than the regular lotion, but only comes in the big tubs, so while at T*rget, I grabbed a "Yes to Carrots trial size Body Butter just for the actual container. I had planned to scrape out what was in it, add the Cetaphil, so I had a purse size container of it! But I tried the stuff that was in it..it is scented but gave it a shot. Its super thick and my hands did not react to it. SO far so good...its a lovely thick stuff and makes my hands feel nice.
Just wondering if anyone else has used any of their other products. They have hair care products, lip things, some baby stuff, etc. Just looking for personal experiences.
TIA!

Sorry I cannot speak to the "Yes to Carrots" brand but I can tell you that Emu Oil is wonderful for all dry, cracked, chapped body parts and I haven't heard of ANYONE that has ever used it having any sort of reaction. My entire family uses it on our hands, face, lips, etc, etc, etc. It is light (not overly greasy) and you don't have to wait forever for it to soak in.
If you skin is sensitive you will do better in the organic isle of your grocery store. I like yes to carrots, but that is just the tip of the iceburg so to say. There are many great products that contain only a few non-irritating ingredients. I started with the big names like yes to carrots and burts bees and looked around to find some great products sitting right next to them on the shelf.
P.S. if you are looking for a simple easy skin conditioner, then try a little olive oil. For really bad dry hands I put it on my hands before bed and put a pair of socks over them and it is sooo nice in the morning.
I don't know about the "Carrots" products, but "Vermont's Original Bag Balm" is supposed to be very good.
Look it up on Amazon... and you can read the reviews there.
I've been through a number of all-to-mostly natural products (some organic, some not) and it seems that you just need to find the ones that work for you. Everyone's hair and skin are a little different, and will respond differently to products, so you really just have to try stuff and see what works - also, to balance price point, efficacy, and ingredient concerns. I've found the Yes to . . . brand to be a really nice balance of price and effectiveness. I really like their face lotion, and facial cleanser. (Yes to tomatoes and Yes to Cucumbers and Yes to Blueberries.) The shampoo and conditioner were fine, but I've found others I like better. My husband really liked Yes to Carrots baby shampoo for our youngest, but it got expensive, and we like California Baby shampoo a lot, too. We really like lots California Baby products (you can also buy in bulk from them, which lowers the overall cost.) Their seriously sensitive line has been a lifesaver for my eczematic boys, and now we all use the Calendula shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Check out the Environmental Working Group's cosmetics/personal care products database at http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ to get more ideas of brands to try. Good luck!
I use Yes to Carrots and I have no complaints. I have used the lotions/creams and the lip butter (love it). I haven't tried the hair care. I don't really know why. Perhaps I will give it a shot when I need to get some new shampoo. I have the diaper rash cream but haven't had to use it yet. They have a Yes to Cucumbers line which is made for sensitive skin. I am pretty sure they have a cucumber hand cream but I don't know how strongly scented it is.
I have used the yes to carrots hand cream. I can't remember the exact name, but it was the cream in a tub. I liked it a lot, it really soaked in. I will say it had a slight scent. Like you, I can't handle most scented things for migraine reasons, but this one didn't bug me. Maybe would if you put it all over. It wasn't overly greasy, but you definitely felt it on there.
What I actually use is Aveeno, just their plain unscented lotion is awesome. I also use the overnight lotion. And reading the last post, I have bag balm as well. I use it on my lips and love it. I wouldn't put it on hands because it would be a mess- it's like a super thick vaseline. Great on lips, though.
I have used the carrot cream in a tub and like that a lot along with the lip balms and the carrot shampoo and conditioner work good too. I have tried the tomato and the cucumber shampoo/conditoners and didn't like them as much.
I just wanted to mention another thing to try for your hands - Eucerin Aquaphor. I use it on my son who has eczema and I put it on my own hands before going to bed - it really helps, although I would probably not use it much during the day since it's kind of greasy. I told my father-in-law about it to, since he also gets dry and cracked hands in the winter, and he loves it as well.
My SO came home from work the other day with painful dry, cracked, bleeding hands. He also can't stand scented stuff. I gave him our son's Eucerin cream to try as it is unscented. It worked like a charm. Dermotologistd and Drs recomend this stuff all the time. My son uses it for eczema, I also used it years ago for my terminally ill (ALS) realitive as he would get dry and ichy but strong smelling stuff made him unable to breathe. The name brand is expensive but the generic stuff is just as good.
Personally I have not tried, but a friend of mine RAVES about them so I would say it would be a great product to try.
