After much searching, I decided to hire Renee to be the midwife to deliver my second child. I think I interviewed basically all the midwives in the greater Los Angeles area. I really felt comfortable with Renee and was impressed by her knowledge and kindness.

Renee did my prenatals from about 6 months on (I hadn’t decided on anyone until then). She was able to come to my house which was a huge stress-reliever since I also have a two year old. Actually, my two year old always looked forward to the visits from the “doctor” because she loved Renee. Renee has a wonderful way with children and incorporated my daughter into the process of the check up.

I think I called Renee more times in the last week or so than in the 4 months previous. However, she was always gracious and understanding and never made me feel silly or stupid for calling. I went into labor at night (of course). When we finally decided it was “for real” we called Renee. She talked to me for a couple of minutes and then said she’d be right over. And she was. She arrived very quickly, which was great because it turned out that I had a very fast labor. She was very good with making suggestions on positions to ease the discomfort during transition. She was very calming and supportive. For some reason, I was scared to push and she helped me through that unaccountable fear with gentle support and solid affirmation. My daughter had slight shoulder displacia, which could have been a bad situation, but Renee took control immediately, knew exactly what to do, and delivered my daughter with no problems. My daughter was born healthy, perfect and beautiful. Renee stayed for about 3 hours after the birth, taking care of me and my baby. She even helped me dry off from my shower. You don’t get that in a hospital.

Renee was wonderful postpartum, coming first thing the next morning. She had great advice for recovery and self-care postpartum.

If I decide to have a third child, I will definitely be calling Renee.

Renee is a genuinely loving and supportive midwife. Her warmth and encouragement helps instill me with confidence and an overall sense of peace, throughout this pregnancy. She takes her time with me at each appointment (in the comfort of my own home!!!) and answers all my many questions. She is thorough, knowledgeable and highly dependable. I feel so privileged to have her attend my baby's upcoming birth.
