Recess is a membership-based community center for kids & their adults, to play, connect, create, and grow.
We know that free play is critical to a child's development. Recess offers open play all day for the 5 & Under set, in the 3200 modern playspace. For something a little more structured, classes like Messy Art, Spanish Through Play, Move it & Groove it, and Little Cooks give directed experience with new materials.
Adults get the opportunity to connect with other local parents & learn about pertinent topics (Potty Training, Infant Child & Adult CPR, Setting Limits & Dealing with Tantrums, Understanding your child's personality & Using that info for Preschool Selection), as well as a chance to enjoy the amenities (coffee, pilates, yoga, free wifi, massage, parenting classes, and more).

We love recess. LOVE it! We live in a small SF apartment with a lively toddler who likes to romp and play and explore and tear things to bits - I don't know what we would do without the huge Recess playspace for her to enjoy and explore. Plus she gets to see and play with all sorts of other kids from the neighborhood, and I take classes there. You can even go there and have them watch your kid while you get a massage - doesn't get much better than that!
