Hire Maren R !! Maren assisted with the birth of our first born: Will, who is now 3. We hired her again with the birth of our second, Ben, who is just now 1. We plan on hiring her again for any subsequent children. We strongly recommend a doula for labor support and we strongly recommend Maren R. She has participated in dozens of births and knows what is normal and what is a problem. She is there with you the ENTIRE TIME to hold your hand and tell you that everything is normal and progressing fine, or not. During most hospital births we have found that neither the staff nor the doctor are available MOST OF THE TIME, but mearly check on the progress of labor now and then. If not for Maren, I am not sure how we would have handled that environment on our own. Maren is YOUR PERSONAL GUIDE through the childbirth process.
Additionally, I should say that my wife and I are natural childbirth proponents. However in the natural childbirth culture, an expecting mother may often encounter natural childbirth "Nazi's" who cannot accept anything but a 100% natural birth. This is NOT Maren. Maren is there to assist YOU in having the kind of birth YOU want. She helps you establish this plan in advance, and then during the birth works with you and hospital staff to achieve those goals.
As I said in the outset, hire Maren R !! This is an incredible value monitarily and will greatly reduce the stress of childbirth and help you achieve the birth experience you want for you and your new child.

Maren was our doula for the births of our first 2 daughters and she will be for our third daughter in Feb! I love having her there during the hard labor and delivery b/c she is assertive (but not rude) with the hospital staff when it comes to what I need or want for the birth. She is my voice when I can't remember what I would want to say b/c I'm focusing on relaxing during contractions etc.. I also love the way she makes sure my husband is really involved during the process. She make sure he doesn't feel like a big dummy standing in the corner shuffling his feet!

Maren was our childbirth instructor and doula for the birth of our second child. We could not have done it without her. She is AMAZING!! She shares so much valuable information in her classes and provides physical and much more importantly emotional support during labor. I was able to deliver my child naturally, without ANY medications, because of the support and information Maren gave us. She was there encouraging us every step of the way. We will use her again and again. I highly recommend her services for any pregnant woman!!

What can we say about Maren? She was an outstanding Bradley teacher and Doula. She is quite knowledgeable about birthing practices and will provide additional help and resources to assist with what birthing practice is best for you. She was a great support (metaphorically and literally) in the laboring/birthing room--I don't know what I would have done without her and her encouragement. Thanks to her, we had a drug-free birth and now an alert, beautiful baby. We don't have any qualms in recommending Maren; she'd be our choice, again and again.

Maren was our Bradley method teacher and doula for the birth of our daughter. My husband and I wanted to have a natural childbirth. Unfortunately, we were with a practice that was not supportive our goals. Maren helped us recognize that and find a more natural childbirth friendly practice. The labor support she gave us as our doula was amazing. It was a long and difficult labor and I am convinced that if it was not for Maren I would have been one of those women sent to the OR for a C-section that was completely unnecessary. Instead, we had a beautiful vaginal delivery and our daughter was healthy and alert from the very first moment she entered the world. She is an extremely kind and compassionate person with great expertise and experience in her field. I highly recommend her as a doula and a natural childbirth instructor.

Maren assisted both of my births and was fantastic! Both births were natural and we couldn't have done it without her encouragement, patience and support. I can't say enough great things about Maren other than I've used her twice and would do it again in a heart beat (if we were having more kids)

Maren was our Bradley teacher and our Doula. She was an incredible teacher and advocate. We chose Maren because she was so knowledgeable and strong and because she really made us feel comfortable and at ease. We had a change of plans for our birth because our baby was breech and Maren was there with us each step of they way, advocating for us as parents and for our little girl. We are really happy that we had Maren as our Doula and feel really blessed to have had all the help and support she provided.
