My daughter went to Xtreme Dance on a Daisy's Girlscouts fieldtrip. The group was between the ages of 5 to 6 years old. The instructor taught them a routine that was highly inappropriate for the age group. The girls were instructed to dance provocatively to "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne. I feel that the instructor's selection of that routine for the age group was a very poor judgement call. I would never send my daughter there for dance instruction!
Before you sign your daughter up for dance instruction always research the school carefully ask about the credentials of the instructors ask about the method of instruction and the goal of the school. Steer clear of schools that are focused on trophies and competition. Those types of schools are not focused on the young dancer's growth. They focus on teaching routines not technique. With this goal, the dancer is much more likely to have multiple injuries. When dance is taught with a method approach, such as Russian method or Imperial method for ballet, the dancer will build on skills and learn ballet for example, not just for one routine, but for a lifetime of dance.
New very spacious studio location with small class sizes which gives great 1 on 1 time with each student. Teachers are AWESOME and the students all look forward to coming to class.
