Q

Breastfeeding

San Diego, CA

I am currently breatfeding I am sticking to it no matter what. My question is one breast is a lot larger than the other, will this eventually balance out? When I stop breastfeeding will I just end up with one breast a lot larger than the other? My other question is that I had a c-section and its been 4 weeks and I still feel a lot of discomfort how long does it take to fully recover. How long does it take for the swelling to go down? I am currently wearing a belly band how long should I wear it?

Everyones Illness

Seattle, WA

So my hub stayed home from work with your pretty normal cold/flu. Fever aches and well grumpy. I thought we were all out of the clear from getting it because i have been a freak about cleaning everything he has stayed away for the most part except to watch tv in the living room at night. It was saturday and none of us had it. I wake up this morning my 15 month old has a fever. Then this afternoon I start feeling run down and yuck (no fever yet thank god) and now i just put my hand on my 3 year olds forhead and he a low grade fever too. Where did i go wrong? My hub hasnt made any meals or really even been involved in anything but being in the house and now we are all sick!!! I am bitter now to because now monday he gets to go back to work with four days of sleep under him and even though still groggy feeling better and I get to not rest and deal with my 15 month who has been screaming almost all day!! So thats my bitter side of this he brings the cold in gets all weekend to recoup and then i get to deal with the rest!!! Grrr...Is there anyway to keep things like this from consuming a household of people?

Seeking Caretaker for Father

Chicago, IL

This is a tall order, I understand, but by 91 year old Father has Altzheimers and it is really beginning to drain my Mom who's his only caretaker. Does anybody know where to find a Ukrainian, Russian or Polish-speaking caretaker who has experience with Altzheimers or dementia? We really would like to enjoy our father/grandfather when we are with him, and not just be stressing over the mundane details. Thanks ladies!

Suspect I Have a Clogged Duct - What Do I Do?

Chicago, IL

I've exclusively nursed my son from day one, and he is just about to turn 1 year old. Today I awoke to discomfort in my left breast, sore and achy. I was hoping perhaps it was just sore from being kicked (we co-sleep and I often wake up with feet in my face), but when I nursed and let-down, it increased the discomfort. It's localized to the lower left portion, which makes me think it's a clogged duct. I've heard these are tremendously painful, and am hoping someone has advice for how to avert it before it gets worse. I've used a hot rag to soak it, didn't notice much difference. I prefer natural solutions if possible!
