My 8 month old son weighs 16 pounds, 12 ounces and his doctor prescribed 1/2 teaspoon of Benadryl before bedtime. Everything I read says not to do it unless they are a year old. I'm afraid to give him the Benadryl. Has anyone given their child who is under a year old Benadryl?

Hello moms, my son's pediatrician has prescribed us Nasacort nose spray then Claritin, Benadryl, Singulair, none seem to work for him. I'm wondering if I should take him to an Allergist. Will an allergy doctor really do anything more for him? I went through all the allergy tests myself, went for allergy shots for a while, but they didn't really help me. My 19 month old is suffering from seasonal allergies. The pollen has been pretty bad in Delaware lately and he is an absolute miserable mess.
