10 Month Old with a Constant Runny Nose

Hello again moms! I have a question similar to one another mom recently asked. My 10 month old son has been sneezing with a runny nose for going on a week now. He had a temp of 100.2 on Tuesday but now it's back down to normal. He seems to be draining mucus (sp?) ok, but when I try to suction him with the bulb syringe he fights me like a grown man! Usually, he'll sneeze and have mucus drainage, but he will either sniff it back up before I can get to him with the syringe or he will thrash around fighting me and get himself so worked up that...

Soothing a Cough

My daughters have had several colds this winter, but their latest one is lingering in the form of a nasty cough. My elder daughter is almost 3 and she will cough so hard that she gags. This is making her very cranky during the day and wakes her up three or four times a night. I am just wondering if anyone has suggestions for soothing her cough.

High Fever in Toddler

So my dd is 21 months- she has been a little stuffy and running a slight fever so i took her to our doctor yesterday. her fever was 101.5 and the dr said there were no signs of infection and just to give her tylenol to treat the fever and she would get better on her own. well i just took her temp and it was 103.4 underarm- so 104.4 or so actual. gave her another dose of tylenol ( her last one was 4+ hrs ago) so hopefully it will come down soon...im still debating taking her to the ER- On one hand the dr already said theres nothing they...

Hi Ladies, My son was diagnosed with the flu yesterday and already today I am hearing about 2 more kids I know coming down with the flu. Is it in your community or your child? Are they taking Tamiflu? My son is 4 and he didn't get the flu shot. Timiflu seems to be working very well as he is already feeling better. Wondering what determines if the doctor prescribes it or not. How many days will your child be out of school?

Bumps in Throat

oaky so my 13 y.o daughter has been having a sore throat. We looked at it with a flash light and we saw two bumps. The bumps were red and they weren't that big. They are right behind the uvula. We think it is Strep throat. Could it be anything worse than strep? Even if her throat isn't hurting but the bumps are there should she go to school?
