Need Diaper Changing Advice

My 7 month old has turned diaper changing in to a challenging game. I am a first time Mom and have to say this is one topic I haven't read about and wasn't ready for. He flips over so fast and wants to crawl off the changing table. This sounds like something all parents probably go through as I'm sure they get bored on their backs. I'm just not sure what approach to take. The other night I made him stay on his back and he reacted so dramatic that it made me feel awful. I don't want to start a bad habit (have been changing him while he...

Baby Has Hard Bowel Movements

I have a happy one year old daughter who has always had problems with harder than normal bowel movements. When she was just a few months old we had to put her on sorbital(sugar water). I hated having to do this and started feeding her prunes and other foods that I thought would help. She's now drinking milk and it's gotten worse. She's not constipated she actually goes 4-5 times a day, but it's in rabbit pellet form. I hate to be so blunt, but I'm hoping that someone has some ideas on how to cure this without over-the-counter meds. I...

Changing Table - Alternatives?

I am expecting baby number two in March - YAY! I have all the gear, etc. from the first baby - but I am lacking a changing table for the first floor of our home (we lived in a different home when baby number one arrived). Since I am scheduled for a c-section, I know walking upstairs to the baby's room (where the current changing table resides) will be out of the question for awhile. Any creative ideas for a changing table on the first floor of our home? I plan to put something in our living room or office for this purpose. I just don't want...

Diaper Bag Recommendations

Good Morning Mama's! I'm wondering if you can provide any diaper bag recommendations. With our first, we purchased an Eddie Bauer duffle style diaper bag and while it was good and unisex so my husband would carry it, it was huge and awkward to carry! While I'd love a cutsie bag, for practical reasons I'm hoping to find one that's gender neutral so my husband will feel comfortable toting it around as well. We like the idea of a backpack style, but I'd like to ensure the bag can go over the stroller back. I'm open to any and all...

To Diaper Genie or Not...

I received a Diaper Genie II from a friend at my baby shower, but I had decided previously to go with the disposable diaper bags (www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3011096). Now I don't know if I want to keep the genie or stick to my original plan. Anyone have any suggestions about using the diaper genie? I don't want to have more baby items than I need.

What Should I Do for Diaper Rash?

I think my 2 month old son has some diaper rash on the inside of his thighs and his lower stomach above his diaper. I have never seen or felt diaper rash so I'm not sure if that is what it is. The skin is bumpy and feels leathery. I have applied some A+D Ointment on it but I'm not seeing a difference. Do any other moms have any suggestions of anything else I should be applying? Does Desitin work better? Thanks, D.

Which Diapers Do You Use?

Hello all, So I was wondering which brands of diapers you all have tried or use? My husband and I are looking for cheaper brands and trying them out. We tried the Costco brand diapers and thought they worked well but they seemed to irritate my daughters bottom. I do not mind paying top dollar for diapers if she doesn't get a rash. Have a great day to you all!!!!

Where Is My Pee?

So I had stomach flu Tuesday-Wednesday. Starting Wednesday night I was re-hydrating. I knew I was dehydrated because my back muscles were spasming. All day Thursday I drank as much water as I could. This morning, still drinking. I've only peed like four times since Wednesday. And I'm 32 weeks pregnant, so this isn't normal. I was peeing like ALL the time. When I do pee, it's like... trickle... and that's lame. This morning my pee was bright orange, even though I've been drinking a lot. What the heck? Where is my pee, and what...

Wipe Warmer Problem

My mom gave me a wipe warmer, and I love the idea of it, but am having real problems with it. It comes with the water holder to keep them from drying out, but they still dry out and the wipes that are on bottom actually get burned. By the time I get to the bottom wipes (about a half inch thick of wipes), they are brown from being scorched. Has anyone else had this problem, or is there something I can do to prevent it from happening?
