Newborn with Bad Gas, Possible Milk Intolerance?

My daughter is 6 weeks old and I think she may have a milk allergy or intolerance but I'm not sure. She cries as though she is in pain throughout the day and when she cries her body gets stiff and when I'm holding her I can feel her pushing as though she is trying to pass gas which makes me think she is constipated. I explained this to her doctor at her 4 week check up and he said it's colic, but I decided to switch her formula from the regular enfamil to enfamil gentlease and things seemed to be better at first, but then she went back to...

Acid Reflux or Just His Personality? How Can We Get Some Sleep?!

Hi everyone, this is my first time on mamasource! I am the proud mama of a beautiful 7 week old baby boy...with bad acid reflux. He is on baby prilosec but he is still spits up a lot. It is so bad that I can't lay him down in his crib at night. I have a infant wedge and I have raised one side of the bed off the floor but it still doesn't help. He chokes on his spit up when we lay him down. He is overall a very uncomforrable baby. Sometimes I can't do anything but hold him. He likes to be up on my shoulder. Some days he is not...

Question About Similac Alimentum

I have a two month old who has had some feeding issues. His doctor put him on Alimentum two days ago because of his spitting up. He had been gaining weight well. My doc put him on this to help ease his tummy. Since being put this formula he had wanted to eat more often and more formula at a time. Before being switched he ate every 6 oz every 3-4 hours. Now he wants 7 oz every 2-3 hours. He had been sleeping through the night since he was 6 weeks old so he only goes through 5-6 bottles a day. FYI he is a big boy. At birth he was 10 lbs 1...

Does Cow's Milk Affect Behavior?

Does anyone have experience with cow's milk affecting behavior? I have two year old twins and and 9 month old. When they were babies they had inexplicable rashes. This occurred after I supplemented with formula at about 6 months. My 9 month old now has a rash which coincides with switching from breastfeeding to formula(they look like heat rashes). I switched from milk to almond milk for my twins and I swear their behavior has dramatically improved. Could this be a coincidence since they are almost three and have finally adjusted to a new...

What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

8 Month Old on Alimentum formula...Could It Be a Milk Protein Allergy?

Hi moms! So if you've been following my questions, my infant has had a rough go. Up until she was 5 months we couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. Thought it was colic, then reflux. We switched her to Alimentum formula after talking to a friend and after 3 weeks she quit fussing all the time, and grunting and was sleeping awesome! So she was eating solids and doing great. We though she had started to outgrow it and so with the formula being so expensive we chatted about switching to the next step down which was Similac Sensitive....

Infant with Reflux

Hi, I have a 5 week old daughter and since day 3, the doctor said she had reflux. She was not sleeping well and was just a little fussy. He put her on Zantac and switched her formula to Similac Alimentum. I took her off the Zantac b/c it wasn't making a difference and keeping her awake. Now, since last night, she has been uncontrollably crying. Her spell lasted from 6-1030 last night, then she slept on me last night and was ok. Then this morning, same thing. I noticed she had thrush and took her to the dr. He said thrush wouldn't...

It Seems My Kids Are Always sick...any Advice?

Hi, busy working mom of two boys; an almost 1-year old and an almost 3-year old. They attend daycare two days per week. It seems like they're always sick! We've gone through pink eye, strep, pneumonia, hand food & mouth; along with the common cold, stomach bugs, etc. The older one gets a vitamin every day, I try to feed him balanced meals, lots of rest. I'm frustrated and winter is coming...does anyone have any ideas, hints, suggestions that might help?

Extremely Miserable Baby

My son just turned 8 months old and from the time he was born he has been unhappy. I seriously didnt think it was possible for a baby to cry this much. He cries throughout the day. He is so tempermental. I have 2 other children, ages 7 & 13. My oldest was somewhat cranky, mostly at night because she wanted to stay up all night and sleep during the day, and my middle child never made a sound not even when she was sick or hungry. I know all babies are different just like all adults vary from one another. I just dont know what to do. It seems...
