Almost 3 Year Old's SEVERE Dry Skin

My son's skin has always been real dry, but especially in the past year or so. I'm quickly running out of ideas on how to help it. He's almost 3 years old (will be three at the end of next month). He has big patches on his scalp that hurt him when I try to gently comb it out after his baths to get some of the patches out. He'll let me do it real gently for a little while and then pulls his head away and says it hurts. Baby oil to loosen them up and cradle cap treatment by Orajel have helped as little short term fixes. Both are messy,...

My 4 Year Old Won't Stop Sucking on His Clothes/hands

My son is 4 1/2 and has recently started sucking on his shirts, jackets, and hands constantly. Today he went through 3 shirts before finally making him go bareback for the evening. I've tried giving him other things, like sugarless gum as his teacher suggested, to keep his mouth occupied, but he swallows it. Other than redirection and partial nudity, any suggestions on how to get this to stop, and ideas on why he's doing it? He's always been a thumb sucker, but not a constant sucker, and this has gotten way out of control.

Skin Problems After Having My Baby

I am a mom of a soon to be 4 year old and an 8 week old. I had no problems with my skin with my first born, but when I was pregnant with my second, my skin became extremely oily. I thought nothing of it and just washed my skin more. A few days after having my son, my skin did a 180 and is now acting strangely. I have dry patches all over my face that flake and hurt. They become red and inflamed and no matter what I do, they just won't go away. I have just been caking on the lotion in those areas in hopes that it is just dry skin and will go...

My Almost 3 Year Old Still Drools...

Hi moms... I have a almost three year old who still drools quite a bit and he is not teething. It wouldn't bother me so much except now that the weather has turned so cold and dry he has some pretty bad eczema under his mouth which looks painful. He had a speech eval earlier this year and the therapist commented about his drooling and suggested we go to an ENT and now his pediatrician has suggested we go see and ENT. I am going to make the appointment, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what was done about it. ...

What to Add/leave off Baby Registry?

Hi - I am wondering what items other Moms have put on their Baby Registry, and what items you would leave off? Obviously, leave off clothes, but is there anything you wished you had put on that you didn't, or vice versa? Also, when it comes to things like bottles, should I register for a "variety" pack of sorts? Or, should I research basically everything in advance before putting it on the list? I've started researching the bigger items, strollers, high chairs, diaper genie, etc. so I can put on the items that have the best features or have...
