At What Age Do You Let a Baby 'Cry It Out'?

I have a 7 week old son who was held day and night by his well-intentioned grandmothers for the first 5 weeks. While we greatly appreciated their help, they are now gone and our son wants to be held in order to go to sleep. He won't go to sleep unless he is in his swing (another one of their practices) or in someone's arms. After he has fallen asleep we have to lay him down with the greatest of care and pray that he doens't wake up. Suggestions for Baby Registery

It has been a long time since we've had a baby in the house, we already have the crib and other "major" items, but I wanted to hear from you mom's if there is anything you would suggest that you "can't live without". I am going to breast feed, use cloth diapers (fuzzybunz maybe), and we will co-sleep for a while. Any advice or suggestions are VERY welcome!! Thanks in advance! Lea
