See all- I was going to suggest a play yard. Letting him play in cupboards/drawers is a good idea, as long as he's not underfoot while you're cooking or using knives.
- We have the "kid's cupboard" and that works well. We also have always tried to plan naptime to be during dinner prep time. Worked well with #1, not so well with #2....
