Advise on Dr. Prescription

I took my 10 year old son to the doctor with symptoms including a soar throat and stuffy nose. The nurse did a quick strep test that came back negative. When the doctor came in he said it was probably his sinuses. He looked in his ears and found them to be normal. Then he looked in his throat and said that he was going to prescribe him singulair and zyrtec because he felt that my son has allergies and not a virus. This just sounds fishy to me. Claritin or Zyrtec for Pregnancy and 3 Year Old?

Hi mommies. I am currently 7 months pregnant and my doc said I can take claritin or zyrtec. Which works best!? I am so miserable this year I can barely stand to be awake! My 3 year old is also suffering this year. His doc said the same medicines. Which works best for allergies in adults and children?

Allergy Medicine for an Almost 4 Year Old?

We are not a family that takes a lot of medicines, I can only remember a handful of times I have even given our son Motrin (I'm not a fan of tylenol.) We recently saw an Allergist at Children's for some testing, and she suggested he start taking a chewable Claritin everyday. That was almost a full month ago, and I have not bought any yet.
