Conidering Buying a Baby Back Carrier and Not Sure What to Get

I have a wonderful, loving 11 month old little boy that is well over 26 pounds. He is cruising, but not yet walking. He's getting a lot of floor time and does a great job entertaining himself. I have a sling that I love and use it around the house when I'm needing to go downstairs to do laundry, etc., need to get things done outside or he is just needing some extra Mommy time and I simply can't sit and cuddle, but he is getting so big that I think a back carrier would be better at this point. I could 'wear' him around the house and have two...

Baby Sling....Ring, Pouch or Neither??

I am researching baby carriers. I have looked at baby slings with rings, pouches, wraps and framed carriers. I have tried the framed carries and backpacks with the other two kids but they were uncomfortable. A friend told me that if I wanted to have a sling I needed to get "sized" before I got too far in the pregnancy. Does anyone have good or bad experiences with slings? God Bless, K.

6 Week Old High-Need Baby

My son is 6 weeks old and wants to be held all the time, we have tried a bouncer, a swing and even the stroller but does not like to be in these places; he will cry endlessly until you pick him up. He does not doze off to sleep on his own rather he has to be rocked, nightime and daytime are the same as far as his crying goes. The pediatriacian told us our son had colic bit this crying business is all day not just sometimes!! I want to get a baby sling, it is recommended by Dr. Sears. A baby sling is supposed to calm babies and later on...

Will This Carrier Help on the Subway?

I am coming to New York to visit my friend. I got this hipseat from chickybaby.com but am wondering if it will be ok to use on the subway. I have never ridden the subway in New York before and am wondering if there are always seats available or if I will have to hold my baby on my hip all the time. We won't have the stroller with us and I am hoping this will be a nice option. What about in museums? Do the museums rent strollers?

Best Infant Sling for Short Moms

I'm about to have my second baby any day and am looking for a recommendation on the best sling or wrap-type carrier (not a basic Baby Bjorn-type front carrier) to use with a newborn that will work for my specific shape. I tried a couple when my 2 year old was an infant that didn't work well for me; i.e., Infantino sling-rider seems like it's made for larger frames. I am 5 feet with a small frame, but much more curvy than thin...about 120 pounds at normal weight (155 pregnant at the moment) and larger chested (36 DD or bigger when nursing)....

Need Advice on 2 Week Old Cryer

I have a 2 week old baby girl and all she does is cry, no matter what we do. we rock her, sing, walk, nothing seems to satisfy her. The doctor has checked her out and says she is okay physically and the formula is good. His advice is that some babies are just cryers and fussy and we need to wait it out. However, this is very diffucult as I am a stay at home mom and all day and night she just crys. I check if she is fed, clean, warm, and she still crys. Only sometimes if we pick her up and walk with her does she calm down for a little bit....
