5 Year Old Needs Glasses!

Hi - Ok - our 5 year old (in Pre K)- told us at Monster Jam "he needed glasses but did not want them- they are ugly"- he had some trouble coloring in lines etc.- so I took him to Optometrist last week- and he has Amblyopia in left eye (vision 20/25 right eye- 35/70 left). He is getting a strong eyeglass prescription. Is anyone familiar with this? And anyone have advice how to get him to LIKE glasses? He is so resistant to the idea of the everyday glasses- even the cool glasses he will get for sports. We try to tell him they are COOL- but...

Ideas for Eye Patches/glasses for Children!!!

My nephew is 19 months old and we started noticing that his left eye seems to be turning in a bit. My sister took him to a pediatric ophthalmologist and the doctor found that he is far sighted in both eyes, more so in the left than the right. The doctor wants him to wear a patch on the good eye, so the weaker eye can strengthen 4-6 hours a day. (Yeah right!) This seems impossible because he will not keep the patch on at all. Glasses were ordered as well and he needs to wear the patch with the glasses too. Does anyone have any ideas or...

Putting Eye Drops in a 2 Year Olds Eyes

I have a question, my son is about to be 2 years old. I took him to the doctor today and they told me he has pink eye. They gave him a perscription for eye drops. Now, it is one thing to give a 2 year old medicine, but eye drops? I have tried everything I can think of to get the eye drops in his eye but nothing that I have tried works. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the drops in his eyes? I have tried to put then in the corner of his eye by the bridge of his nose, but he just rubs the drop away.
