S.P.
My oldest son got his first tooth when he was 14 months old, my daughter was 15 months old when she got her first tooth and my youngest son was almost 15 months old as well. Fear not Momma, the teeth will come in!
My 10 month old is toothless!! The pediatrician said not to worry and I know I should not but this is my third child and the other 2 got their teeth in their 7th and 8th months. I know they say that siblings typically do get teeth around the same time and I guess that is why I am wondering where the heck are they???? He has been drooling for months and nothing. My other two were walking by 8 months too and he is just starting to take steps but I know that is probably my fault due to not working with him as much. I know.....I need to stop comparing my munchkins, they are each unique. But the tooth thing is obviously not in my control so was just wondering if anyone else had late blooming teeth on their little ones.
Thanks a bunch Ladies!

my oldest is a VERY late teether. She didn't get her 1st tooth until she was 10 1/2 months old. BY her first birthday she still only had 1 tooth. She is now 29 months old and finally has most of her teeth but still no sign of her 2nd year molars! My youngest got her 1st tooth at 9 1/2 months. Now one full month later she has no other teeth! Don't worry. THey will eventually pop out!
My oldest daughter didn't get one tooth until she was 13 MONTHS OLD!!! The pediatrician mentioned "cutting" her gums but I took the "wait and see approach". Seems like at 13 months she got all of her teeth at once. My other two children were normal....though my middle child got her 1st tooth at 4 months. One extreme to the other.
My son was just 1 year old when he got his first tooth...and he was late getting all the rest.
DON'T WORRY!!!! My first got his first teeth at 9 months, my second at 6 months, and my 3rd not til 13 months. Don't worry about the walking either. My oldest walked solo at 9 months, my middle at 13 months, and my last at 22 1/2 months (she butt scooted til then). Don't know if she was late w/everything b/c she was preemie, or if it was just her, but my pedi. said not to worry, she'll do things on her own timetable. Now at almost 3 (in March) she's ahead of where her brothers were on many things such as speech, dressing/undressing self, shoes on correct feet 100% of time, etc. They're all different, but I know how hard it is to not comare! - J.
have you brought him to a pediatric dentist.. they could check for you.. to be sure that the teeth are where they should be... good luck.
I have 5 children with one on the way, and they got their teeth in at different times. So it will be okay, don't worry. Wondering where you read that siblings get teeth around the same time. I sure haven't found that to be true. Maybe there is more of a chance of that in families with less children, I don't know, but my kiddos have gotten their teeth really young and really late.
My niece didn't get any teeth until just after her 1st bday and then she got 4 that month. It will happen!
my 4 kids were around 13 months
I wouldn't worry about the teeth. My oldest had his first tooth by the time he was 5 months and a whole mouth full by the time he was 1. My second got one tooth at 8 months and no more until 11 months.
I don't know who told you that siblings get the teeth around the same age/stage as each other...my oldest didn't have a single tooth until 15 months, and my youngest got hers at 8 months! I was sure my oldest was going to enter kindergarten with no teeth!
And the walking...both of my kids were late walkers (15 months and 17 months). With the second I was more worried because the older one talked early and the second one I thought was just more delayed. She ended up qualifying for Early Intervention and was dismissed in just 6 months. It all happens when it's supposed to!
My son had 6 teeth at 10 months and my daughter got her first teeth around 12 months. My daughter is now 14 months and is just getting her 5th tooth. I would definitely not worry about the differenc in your children. It is amazing as to the table food that my daughter has been able to eat with just 2 or 4 teeth!
As for the walking, my son walked soon after his first birthday and my 14th month old currently is no where close to walking (she didn't even start cruising around furniture until after her 1st bday, my son cruised at 9 months). There is a very wide range of a "normal" age to walk (it may even be up to 18 months). I plan to ask my pediatrician more at my daughters 15 month appt.
My son was 12 1/2 months before he got his first tooth! He looked like a gummy old man for a long time! I didn't get my teeth til late and I didn't lose my teeth til late also. I have taken it that he will have super healthy teeth. I wouldn't worry, they will show up eventually!
My first child did not get one tooth until almost 13 months! Then they all came in fine. Actually, teeth are stronger the later they come in! My second child got her first tooth at about 7 months. So that was a pretty drastic difference. The walking thing is fine too.
When I was a nanny, the little girl I cared for didn't get her first tooth until she turned 1. She is a perfectly happy 4 year old now. No worries.
My oldest did not get his first tooth until he was almost 12 months old. I expected the same for my second child and she had her first tooth at 7 months. So as your ped. said I wouldnt worry about. I do believe that my sons dentist said some kids will go all the way up to 18 months with no teeth.
My son got his first tooth at 9 months. My daughter didn't get her first tooth until after 13 months. She also didn't start walking until after 19 months. If you ask your dentist, they will tell you that the later they get their teeth, the stronger they are. It's true. My daughter's teeth are much stronger and healthier than my son's. It's not uncommon, just need to be patient.
All 3 of my were late getting their teeth. They all are losing their teeth late too. I'm with your dr don't worry.
I have photographed 15mo.old toddlers with NO teeth before. I've never seen a kid walk into preschool without their teeth so they will come.
Both my kids didn't get teeth until after they were 10 months. Its actually better for them to get them later! Don't be surprised when they don't fall out until later too! My oldest first tooth didn't fall out until she was almost 7!!! :-)
My oldest who is now nine didn't have a tooth in his mouth on his first birthday-not one! He gummed his birthday cake.- His birthday was in September and by Christmas he had four that were coming through all at the same time- by his second birthday he had all his teeth- it was hard for him to cut all those teeth at the same time- runny nose, watery eyes, drooling all over the place but when it was over - he had four new teeth. My daughter only had one on her first birthday and now she is 20 months and is cutting her last one. They will come- just love on each baby and don't worry a bit about them!
all kids are different, even siblings. My first daughter got her first two teeth at 5 months, had 8 teeth at 8 months, 12 teeth at 12 months, and got her molars 6 weeks later. so 16 teeth at 13 months!
my second daughter had TWO teeth at 12 months!!! hahaha!!! She got the top four teeth at 13 months. very different.
I'll tell you what... I didn't know much when I had my first daughter, so i didn't realize how quick hers came in... but it made me appreciate my second daughters gummy smile all that much more. I didn't even have time to get many pictures of my first with no teeth! :-) I hope this helps!
My daughter got her teeth really late. I think she started getting her teeth at around 11 months, and they were slow to come in.
Consider it a blessing. The later their teeth come in, the less likely they are to have problems with cavities.
mine was a year old. Full head of hair , but toothless. They will come in soon!
I have a niece who didn't get any until she was over a year old and a friend who's son just got his first teeth and he is 11 months. My nine month old just barely got his first teeth and I have been SURE that they were coming in for the last six months because of all the drool and other signs.
