Both my teen son and my 8 yo daughter have horrid foot odor! We plan on asking the pediatrician about it but in the meantime we discovered that the foot powder made especially for food odor, sprinkled on the foot and in the shoes, helps a lot!
My grandson's feet have smelled horrible off and on since he was a toddler. I just about die when he takes his shoes off......it's just not normal to smell so bad and I know he showers, is not a jock but fairly active but even as a toddler I would often throw his shoes away rather than wash them 3 times in an attempt to rid them of the odor. He is getting to an age when bad smells are going to hurt his feelings and we all know how hurtful children can be to one another. Is it his diet? what can I do to help him when he is not with me. PLEASE HELP.

My son has the same problem. I found Addidas brand sport socks that 'wick away' moisture. He also has 2 pairs of shoes so that when one does need to be washed, he can wear the other.
The shoe stores also sell these little odor balls, or you can make your own with some Arm & Hammer Baking soda in a cache.
Be sure he has more than one pair of shoes. They need to air and dry out completely every day. Have him switch out his shoes every other day.
Remind him when he washes his feet each night to clean between each toe and under his toes, every day and then to completely dry them.
Remind him to wear a clean pair of socks every day. If he sleeps in socks, have him change them in the morning. We sweat from our feet every night.
Have him soak his feet in Dark Tea for 20 minutes every other day. It will help to neutralize that odor.
And I agree, maybe take him to a podiatrist if this does not help.
Hi C.,
This is not a topical problem! This is what I wrote to another mom...."Foot odor is directly related to the amount of toxicity in the body. Age has nothing to do with it. The reason boys this age start stinking is because they eat more junk and the synthetic chemicals have built up in their system. Non processed foods and a good absorbable multivitamin will knock it right out!"
Even toxicity can build up in the womb so it's not just about diet. When I was a kid and on multiple medications, my feet stunk too. When I was able to detox as an adult, the odors mysteriously away. It took a while to figure out but it's the gospel. Lots of water and a multivitamin that will absorb along with lots of fiber should help.

My daughter had extremely stinky feet when she was younger. I sprayed the insides of her shoes with vinegar when she went to bed, and by morning, they were dry and smelled better.
Please do not put antiperspirant on any part of a child's body. Blocking sweat glands is NOT healthy for adults, much less children.
Has he been taken to a Dermatologist or a Podiatrist?

You MUST make sure the shoes you buy are leather. 99% of the shoes manufactured now are pleather- plastic leather looking. Look for the tag inside, if it does not say leather upper, don't buy them. Leather breathes, plastic doesn't. Also, a rule to enforce- always wear socks , fresh socks, unless they are sandals- then they can go sockless but only then. Throw out all the fake leather shoes. treat the feet w/vinegar for a few days to a week. Then start fresh with leather only. Buy some extra pairs of leather, as leather is going to SKYROCKET in the next few years because of the decline in raising cows.
Here's several suggestions....
How much do his feet sweat?
Maybe an antiperspirant on his feet will help.
He should have at least 2 sets of shoes and never wear any 2 days in a row.
His shoes need to dry out completely between uses (a boot dryer might help with this).
