My daughter turns 13 on Halloween and we are celebrating on Saturday October 30. In the past she has always wanted to do Halloween related parties, but wants to do something different this year.

Any of you have some fun creative ideas on non-Halloween related stuff? We are trying to think of what we can do if we had a party at our house. She is not into manicures, make-up or hair stuff which is what most Mom’s I know do for their teenage girls! Any game suggestions? Decorations?

She only wants to invite about 10 of her girlfriends.

TIA!!

What can I do next?

I love sleepovers. You get to see, meet and learn her friends. Activities for a party or sleep over could include a scavenger hunt. What are your daughter's favorite activities or favorite movies or television show? You can theme the scavenger hunt around these things. Since your girl isn't a girly girl, you have so many more options for the fun. If you daughter is into drama or dancing you can add elements of acting and dancing.

What ever you do make it fun by being creative and thinking outside the box?

You could have the girls make a movie, do a who-dun-it, or just went to a party this weekend for a 12 year old boy. They had three different video game systems running in three different rooms and basketball in the back. Seemed chaotic to me but my boys had a blasts. The birthday boy's girl guests were playing the Wii in the livingroom.

We did a 13 Y/O party last year, we had fewer girls, and our daughter never gets to have sleep overs, because her sisters have autism, so it just does not work out (long story-has to do with her younger sisters ridgity with sameness) so, for her party, we rented a large room at the indoor water park, slept 8, and included two days of park passes. It was not as expensive as I would have expected. They had a blast.

My daughter had a sleepover, we went swimming, rented movies and the girls just did what they wanted... mainly sit around chat, listen to music and watch movies. It was one of the easiest parties we ever had!

To make the sleepover really special, you could rent a hotel suite and invite the 10 friends, and some parent chaparones.
