my daughter is turning 13 in 2 days. she is having a sleepover at my house with all of her friends. i was wondering what can i do to keep the guest entertained?
13 years olds just want to hang out and eat fun stuff and talk. I would just let them be.
If you really want to do something, bring them to a movie and get some ice cream after.
Otherwise, they will just scream and giggle for most of the night.
At 13 your daughter is plenty old enough to tell you what she wants at a party for entertainment, if anything. Have you asked her?
At 13 they are capable of entertaining themselves and they do it pretty well.
At our house, I made sure I had plenty of food, drinks and I checked up on them every now and then to make sure they were not getting into any trouble.
My daughter and her friends did Mani/Pedi's, played the WII, played pool, watched movies, played Guitar Hero and had a nice time.

Just make sure you have plenty of food, snacks and drinks on hand and they will entertain themselves!
Let your daughter plan it out. She's 13 and knows what would be fun activities.
Just have lots of junk food, video games, and movies - you don't need to structure the evening for them.
Ask your daughter for suggestions for what she would like to do at her party with her friends and try to accommodate her. If she doesn't have any ideas then throw some of these ideas out to her--food - make your own pizzas, taco bar or potato bar - something that will get them involved. You might have a manicure/pedicure station and let the girls give each other "spa treatments". You could do a really cute craft idea and let them make something to take home. Get a couple of fun movies so they settle down and watch them late in the evening. Don't expect them to go to sleep, but expect them to settle down. Plan something for breakfast too to encourage them to get up, eat and leave happy.
Feed them well including junk food and let them be. They create their own fun at that age.
My son is 10 and has sleepovers ~ I just feed them and they entertain themselves.
My daughter just turned 11 and for the past few years she and her friends have just wanted to be left alone. Sometimes they want to go outside, sometimes play xBox or listen to music on the computer, but mostly just do girl stuff without me hovering. So I say you let them just be and entertain themselves...step in if they ask for it.
When I was that age VCR's were still very new and renting a movie meant renting a VCR. So having movies at a sleepover was very exciting. Still, might be nice to have a couple of newer movies (or some old favorites) around in case they want to watch one. I would ask your daughter to think of 3 or 4 movies she'd like to have out and ready to go if they so choose.
Other than that, I agree with the previous posters. Sleepovers were usually just the girls being silly and coming up with silly, crazy things to do. You probably don't want to be too far away from them, but do try to let them have their, innocent, fun.
Plan with your daughter a head of time, but don't micro manage. Girls that age will come up with their own things to do. I would have been mortified as a 13 year old if my mom or one of my friends' moms was supervising and planning activities for a sleepover.
Stay back and supervise but leave them alone. Provide pizza or what ever food they devour. They'll hide from you anyway, they'll want to go off and talk and talk and talk and talk.
If you have to be in the midst of it that might really ruin the whole thing.
What I do when there's a sleep over. I put all the kids in the den floor. They pull all the cushions off all the furniture in the house. They lean up against the front of the couch and chairs to recline and they have a whole stack of mom approved movies. They get as much popcorn and stuff as daughter wants to offer and drinks too. I am in and out of the kitchen a lot and so is everyone else in the house. But this way I can hear them when I am not even in the room. The sound carries into the living room and my craft room.
So I can hear them when they're talking regularly and I can wander into the kitchen if I hear something I don't approve of. BUT they don't know this. They think they're unsupervised for the most part.
I also don't go to bed very early, I'm a night person. I don't think they've ever outlasted me.
At that age we always entertained ourselves - popcorn, movies, nails, prank calls, but mostly just movies and nails.
