18 Month Old Getting to Big for Playpen

My 18 month old current sleeps in a pack n play when at the sitter for his nap. He's a bit on the tall side of the scale so it's getting to the point where the pack n play is too small. He is still in a crib at night. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use at the sitter. A sleeping bag just seems like it would be uncomfortable? Is a blow up mattress safe at this age?

They use cots at daycare for our 16M son. They are right on the ground and he seems to do fine with it.

We bought this for my daughter who was 20 months when she started sleeping on it when she is a grandma's and also when we travel. It is nice, and she likes it a lot. If you buy it and don't like it, they take returns so it's worth a try. We love that it holds up to 100 lbs, so we will be using it for a long time. Good Luck!

I've had my daughter when we travel on an air mattress. She's been doing that since she was 14 months and she has been fine with it.

I had the same problem this past weekend when we went to my grandma's. My daughter is 20 months and does fine in her crib, but the pack n play is just too small. I got her a Dr. Watters inflatable child's bed. You can find them online, I got mine at travelingwithkids.com I think. It says for children 3 and up, but she did fine with it. It has bumpers on the side so they don't roll out. It inflates and deflates really easily. The only problem is getting them to go to sleep with out getting out of it. I had to sit in the room with her and keep telling her to lay down and go to sleep, but that was the only problem I had. It's a bit expensive (around $75), but it should last a while and it seems really comfortable.
Good Luck!

cots, or what is called a nap mat, which is a foam with a covering and a pillow with an attached blanket. My son sleeps on a cot at daycare but we bought one of these nap mats to put on the cot. But we have also used the mat by itself when we are traveling and it has worked well.
