I know people that have had to put 1 pc pjs on them that zip or button up the back so they can't get them off.
My neice is pulling her diaper off every ngiht and every chance she gets. It doesnt matter if she has a sleeper or on or what she manages to get the diaper pulled down. She is not pulling the tabs on the diaper she is just pulling it straight down like a pair of panties. Anyone have any advice on how to stop her from doing this? Is she trying to tell her mom something by doing this? It is with pee pee diapers and poopy ones.

girls usually do potty train much eairler than boys so yes this could be what she is trying to tell you.
now from my experience, here is what i would recomend.
we have bathrooms on 2 of my 3 floors in my house. i did buy a potty, for our upstairs bath room. how ever i bought a potty ring for the downstairs bath room.
if i had it to do all over again i would only buy the potty ring. cos you have to dump and clean and keep sterile especially if you have other kids in the house who like to get into everything. it also gets them used to pottys when you are out in public. i also recomend that you invest in a fold up potty ring that you can carry in your purse. that way your little bundle of joy wont touch the nasty oversized (for their toush) potty.
any way hope this helps
just dont force the situation.
You could try putting her in a onesie that snaps right under the diaper. You can find sizes for older tots in baby stores like Buy Buy Baby and Babies R US. Unless she can unsnap the onesie I don't think she can get the diaper past it.
My day care teacher suggested an idea that worked for us - put the diaper on backwards! That way they can't reach the tabs and pull it off
I am having the very same problem. My daughter is 17 months old. I don't want to force her to wear the diaper because she must be telling me that she is somewhat ready to potty train. But, it is getting to be extremely frustrating. I'm not sure what to do either.
I think this is a great oppotunity to potty train her.
Tell the child to keep the diaper on. She is old enough to understand your command. Be firm. AF
if it's with dirty dipes, then that just means you (or her mom) need to change her more often, she's uncomfortable (and it might be a good time to start potty training).
if she's doing it regardless of soiling then it probably has more to do with the reaction she's getting, so potty training isn't your answer, preventing her from taking the dipe off is. try the onesies idea; put the onesie on backwards so she can't reach the snaps. at night you can put her in a onesie backwards and a sleepsack backwards so she can't get to it. I'm not clear on how she's managing to pull the diaper down with her sleeper on and without undoing the tabs....? but usually putting a footie sleeper on backwards or a onesie backwards should do the trick. and for extra help at night, add the sleepsack. during the day you can also try putting a belt on her pants, one she can't undo.
The grandma next door uses a little duct tape to solve this problem.
Put her to bed in a onesie bodysuit. This will keep her from being able to slip her diaper down her legs. At 18mo I doubt she could figure out how to undo the snaps on the bottom of the garment.
lol, okay, seriuosly use duck tape. wrap it around her waist( loosley but firmly). Bodysuits don't work for little Houdinis! C'mon, they're usually snapped or zippered, now how easy would that be!
Good luck!
My niece started to be clean about at that age, so she might be giving hints about not wanting to wear a diaper anymore. Girls are interested about cleanliness more early than boys usually. Check on babycenter.com, they have some pretty detailed method that only takes 3 days to clean a toddler. You basically need to put away all rugs and other carpets, or keep the child in an area of the house with only tiles or wood, and place several potties around the house, and let the toddler roam freely without diapers or pants or panties. The sensation of the pee/poo over their bodies is really unpleasant, and with a bit of help and monitoring (videos, songs, encouragements, lots of fluid intake) within 3 days the baby should pick it up.
have fun!
