I heard Gymboree has great birthday parties for little ones. There website is www.playandmusic.com I think they have some locations near you. There is also build a bear. If you are looking for a facility to hold a party with more grown ups than kids, try your park district. In Lockport, I heald my sons baptism at the Gladys Fox Museum ($75 rental) and had it catered by cutting edge catering (it was around $6 per person, and I had a ton of food left over)!I hope that helps.
The following is if your party is going to be mostly kids:
Little Gym by Cub Foods on Aurora Ave.
Odyssey World on Route 59
Chuck E Cheese
McDonald's
Build a Bear in Fox Valley Mall and then there's a nice restaurant called Savannah's also in the mall
i would look into park district buildings they sometimes have indoor playgrounds
If you have his birthday a little early (October), my 2 year old loves Blackberry Farm. They have pony rides, a merry go round, a miniature train, hay rides, and a petting zoo. They host picnics and parties there.
I guess I would need to know more about your guest list...Mostly adults, mostly kids or a even mix?
We had my son's first birthday party at Luigi's Pizza on Prairie St in Aurora. They have party rooms and you can buy different birthday packages. They have a huge game room with a climbing wall.
If you are having lots of kids, Oddessy Fun World is a great place with indivdual party rooms where you can have face painting/pizza/pinatas. They have a gigantic climbing area that is about 2 stories tall, and then they also have your average kid b-day game area and some small rides. We went there for my niece's 3rd birthday and both my 5 year old and my 2 year old loved it!! Located at 88 and route 59. Not sure how far that is from Aurora though...
