Hi M.,
My 27 month old has always been an early riser, but when he started waking at 5 -5:30 instead of his usual 6am I was exhausted.Interestingly keeping him up longer at night was no help. He usually goes to bed at 7pm. After speaking with other moms I tried putting him to bed at 6:30pm and this seemed to work - only for a week - but hey it worked!!
I also started to leave a sippy cup of water in his crib so if he was thristy that may prevent him calling out.
As far as nap times. I thought I should try shortening them as he was sleeping from 1-4pm. Every time I woke him - after 2 hours he was painful and clingy for an hour or so after. So I would not recommend altering nap time.
I guess in my very limited experience try putting your daughter to bed earlier.
Like your daughter my son is a crib kicker. I don't have a second child but I have lots of friends how have 2 children that share a room. The second child seems to learn to sleep all of this.
This is little help when you are exhausted. Hang in there and try to get some rest during the day if possible. Goodluck.
